Phenomenology of low probability of intercept synthetic aperture radar via Frank codes
This paper investigates techniques for using low probability of intercept (LPI) modulation techniques for forming synthetic aperture radar (SAR) imagery. This analysis considers a specific waveform type based upon Frank codes in providing for the LPI capability via phase shift keying (PSK) modulation.

Monitoring and Pay: An Experiment on Employee Performance under Endogenous Supervision [PDF]
We present an experimental test of a shirking model where monitoring intensity is endogenous and effort a continuous variable. Wage level, monitoring intensity and consequently the desired enforceable effort level are jointly determined by the ...

Optical Detection and Modeling of Lithium Deposition on Copper Current Collectors
ABSTRACT Understanding lithium (Li) deposition on copper (Cu) substrates is essential for improving the performance and lifetime of zero–excess lithium metal batteries. In this study, Li deposition was investigated under realistic coin–cell conditions using complementary scanning electron microscopy and laser scanning microscopy. A semi–automatic image

A Dynamic Boundary Guarding Problem with Translating Targets
We introduce a problem in which a service vehicle seeks to guard a deadline (boundary) from dynamically arriving mobile targets. The environment is a rectangle and the deadline is one of its edges.

Precision scans of the pixel cell response of double sided 3D pixel detectors to pion and x-ray beams [PDF]
hree-dimensional (3D) silicon sensors offer potential advantages over standard planar sensors for radiation hardness in future high energy physics experiments and reduced charge-sharing for X-ray applications, but may introduce inefficiencies due to the ...

This review outlines how understanding bone's biology, hierarchical architecture, and mechanical anisotropy informs the design of lattice structures that replicate bone morphology and mechanical behavior. Additive manufacturing enables the fabrication of orthopedic implants that incorporate such structures using a range of engineering materials ...

The Tully-Fisher Relation for 25,000 SDSS Galaxies as Function of Environment [PDF]
We construct Tully-Fisher relationships (TFRs) in the $u$, $g$, $r$, $i$ and $z$ bands and stellar mass TFRs (smTFRs) for a sample of $25,698$ late spiral type galaxies (with $0 ...

Space Group Modulated Upconversion and Mechanoluminescence in [YbEu] Cocrystal Complexes
We report here a space group regulation strategy to optimize both upconversion and mechanoluminescence in cocrystal assemblies, representing the first example of integrating these two properties within a single lanthanide complex material. ABSTRACT Lanthanide complexes exhibiting stimuli‐responsive luminescence, such as upconversion (UC) and ...
