Waveform design for MIMO radar with low probability of intercept (LPI) property
A joint waveform and array signal processing approach is proposed to minimize MIMO radar antenna radiation power for best low probability of intercept (LPI) property in pre-selected directions and to achieve near-optimum target detection simultaneously. Some simulation results are presented.

Low Probability of Interception of an Advanced Noise Radar Waveform with Linear-FM
This research considers an advanced pulse compression noise (APCN) radar waveform possessing salient features from linear-FM (LFM) and noise waveforms. A cross-correlation model considering several chirp waveform profiles is used to simulate the output of a passive electronic intelligence (ELINT) intercept-receiver.

Novel Waveform Design with Low Probability of Intercept and High Doppler Tolerance for Modern Cognitive Radar [PDF]
This paper tries to design waveform with low probability of intercept and high doppler tolerance for cognitive radar. Firstly, the novel waveform is formulated by the chaotic-noise waveform and conventional LFM one, where a given phase scaling factor ...

Among many types of modulation, the Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) was the most commonly used modulation technique in radar altimeter. Although FMCW radar altimeter has a good performance in range measurement for radar altimeter [1], it is easily intercepted by time-frequency analysis method such as short time Fourier transform (STFT) and ...

Usage of Costas arrays in Low Probability of Intercept radars
2015 23nd Signal Processing and Communications Applications Conference (SIU), 2015Low Probability of Intercept (LPI) radars are used to detect targets at low distances by means of coded signals without being intercepted by hostile elements. Frequency Shift Keying (FSK) is one of the signal types used by LPI radars. In LPI radars, the frequency sets of FSK signals, which are constructed with continuous wave, are obtained by using ...

The analysis and design of modern Low Probability of Intercept radar
2001 CIE International Conference on Radar Proceedings (Cat No.01TH8559), 2002In the modern battlefield, radar faces more and more serious threats from ECM and ARM, etc. Only the Low Probability of Intercept (LPI) radar can survive. In this paper, the principle of LPI radar is introduced first. Then the effects of radar parameters on LPI performance are discussed in detail.

The low probability of intercept radar systems with spatial feedback
IEEE EUROCON 2009, 2009“The radar system with spatial positive feedback throw the target is considered. In this system there are self-oscillations, if the system is closed through a space of the signal radio-path and the target. When the target is absent (system is not closed), transmitter output power of the noise signal is insignificant, and that complicates detection of ...
