ABSTRACT Introduction Patients requiring long‐term continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) generally have poor prognoses. This study evaluated whether adding continuous intravenous sodium infusion (cIVNa) is associated with improved hemodynamics and outcomes in patients undergoing long‐term CRRT for ≥ 7 days.

ABSTRACT Background Chronic micro‐inflammation in patients with end‐stage renal disease (ESRD) is a significant driver of cardiovascular complications and diminished quality of life. While standard hemodialysis (SHD) effectively manages small‐molecule clearance, its ability to remove medium‐to‐large uremic toxins—the primary catalysts of systemic ...

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Highly Transparent Broadband and Polarization-Insensitive Absorber Based on Metasurface
A highly transparent polarization-insensitive metamaterial absorber with wideband microwave absorption is presented. The broadband absorption (6.0~16.7 GHz, absorptance > 85%) is achieved using three patterned resistive metasurfaces.

Thermal Management of Low Profile Applications
There is an increasing need for low profile thermal management solutions for applications in the range of five to ten watts targeted at portable electronic devices. This need is emerging due to enhanced power dissipation levels in portable electronics. This work focuses upon the optimization of such a solution within certain constraints of profile and ...

Low-Profile and Low-Volume Split-Distributed Resonators and Filters
A new class of low-profile resonators, named split-distributed resonators is introduced in this paper. The newly proposed resonator family features high quality Q-factors and relies not only on the coupling among the constituent resonant elements, but the constituent elements themselves are also made in the distributed form.
