Somatic mutational landscape in von Hippel–Lindau familial hemangioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The causes of central nervous system (CNS) hemangioblastoma in Von Hippel–Lindau (vHL) disease are unclear. We used Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) on familial hemangioblastoma to investigate events that underlie tumor development. Our findings suggest that VHL loss creates a permissive environment for tumor formation, while additional alterations ...

Satellite Camera CCD Read-out System Design, Based on Noise Optimization with Respect to Satellite Limitations [PDF]

open access: yesفصلنامه علوم و فناوری فضایی, 2010
Satellite camera Charged Coupled Device (CCD) read out system needs a high Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR). This is because of the special and inevitable space imaging payload noises. These noises include CCD noises, satellite noises such as lack of complete

Optomechanical reference accelerometer

open access: yes, 2015
We present an optomechanical accelerometer with high dynamic range, high bandwidth and read-out noise levels below 8 ${\mu}$g/$\sqrt{\mathrm{Hz}}$. The straightforward assembly and low cost of our device make it a prime candidate for on-site reference ...

SFE16, a low noise front-end integrated circuit dedicated to the read-out of large Micromegas detectors [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Nuclear Science, 2000
A front-end BiCMOS ASIC was specially developed for the Micromegas detectors to be used in the Small Angle Tracker of the COMPASS experiment at CERN. Each of the 16 channels of this integrated circuit contains a low noise preamplifier with a 100 ns peaking time filter and a discriminator driving a low-level differential digital buffer.

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Clinical performance of the urine‐based TERT promoter AbsoluteQ Digital PCR for non‐invasive detection of bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A urine‐based digital PCR assay targeting two hotspot TERT promoter variants detected bladder cancer with high sensitivity and no false positives in this case–control cohort. The streamlined AbsoluteQ workflow outperformed Sanger sequencing and supports non‐invasive molecular testing for bladder cancer detection.

Determining Conversion Gain and Read Noise Using a Photon-Counting Histogram Method for Deep Sub-Electron Read Noise Image Sensors

open access: yesIEEE Journal of the Electron Devices Society, 2016
A new method for characterizing deep sub-electron read noise image sensors is reported. This method, based on the photon-counting histogram, can provide easy, independent and simultaneous measurements of the quanta exposure, conversion gain, and read ...

Development of frequency domain multiplexing for the X-ray Integral Field Unit (X-IFU) on the Athena

open access: yes, 2016
We are developing the frequency domain multiplexing (FDM) read-out of transition-edge sensor (TES) microcalorimeters for the X-ray Integral Field Unit (X-IFU) instrument on board of the future European X-Ray observatory Athena.
