Novel Method to Improve the Signal to Noise Ratio in the Far-field Results Obtained from Planar Near Field Measurements. [PDF]
A method to reduce the noise power in far-field pattern without modifying the desired signal is proposed. Therefore, an important signal-to-noise ratio improvement may be achieved.

Parameter Optimization for Low-Rank Matrix Recovery in Hyperspectral Imaging
An approach to parameter optimization for the low-rank matrix recovery method in hyperspectral imaging is discussed. We formulate an optimization problem with respect to the initial parameters of the low-rank matrix recovery method.

Ligand‐dependent transcriptional heterogeneity in cell cycle gene expression delays G1/S entry
EGF and HRG induce distinct G1/S progression programs in ErbB2‐amplified BT474 breast cancer cells. Despite activating the potent ErbB2–ErbB3 heterodimer, HRG does not accelerate cell‐cycle entry. Instead, EGF promotes earlier restriction‐point passage via ERK–FOS signaling, whereas HRG activates the AKT–MYC axis, driving transcriptional heterogeneity ...

To address the issues of reduced microseismic signal detection accuracy and difficulty in identifying event boundaries under low signal-to-noise ratio conditions, we propose SEU-Net, an automatic microseismic signal segmentation model that integrates a ...

Emerging experimental and computational methods for studying redox‐regulated structural transitions
Redox reactions can reshape proteins and alter how they behave in cells, with important consequences for health and disease. This review explores emerging experimental and computational approaches for discovering these redox‐sensitive protein switches, revealing their structural effects, and predicting their behavior, opening new opportunities to ...

Time-Domain Sparsity-Based Bearing Fault Diagnosis Methods Using Pulse Signal-to-Noise Ratio [PDF]
A fast and automated technique is crucial for bearing faults diagnosis during operation. To circumvent the intricacies of signal spectrum analysis, a diagnostic method named the pulse signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) test is proposed by exploiting the time ...

Encapsulins are protein nanocompartments that play an important role in iron storage. In the Myxococcus xanthus encapsulin system, two cargo proteins called EncB and EncC contribute to iron mineralization. Here, we show that EncB and EncC generate iron‐containing minerals with distinct chemical compositions, suggesting that the composition of stored ...

Echelle Spectroscopy by a CCD at Low Signal-to-Noise Ratio [PDF]
The measurement of some physical parameters of astronomical objects can only be carried out with high resolution spectra. Unfortunately the high dispersion of the light on the detector restricts such observations to relatively bright sources. However, some spectral information can be concentrated into a single spectral “line” by a cross-correlation ...

Structural and biochemical analysis of a B12 superbinder
BtuG proteins are vitamin B12 scavengers in Bacteroides thetaiotaomicron, a dominant human gut bacterium. We present crystal structures of three BtuG homologs bound to cobalamin and its precursor cobinamide, revealing picomolar binding affinities, among the highest known for any natural protein.
