Engine Testing at Low Temperatures
SAE Technical Paper Series, 1989<div class="htmlview paragraph">When evaluating fuels and engine lubricants in respect of, for example, fuel economy, high accuracy is required. In any engine testing, the best accuracy and repeatability are obtained with a test engine installed in an engine dynamometer, and not in a car on a chassis dynamometer.</div> <div class ...

Pumpability of engine oils at low temperatures
Wear, 1979Abstract The pumpability of various engine oils at low temperatures has been investigated using a Haake-Rotovisko RV2 viscometer, a test engine and a laboratory pumping rig. The cold flow and cold pumpability properties of polymer-thickened engine oils can be predicted from the flow curves at low temperatures.

Chemical engineering at low temperatures
International Journal of Refrigeration, 1988Abstract Immense quantities of natural or man-made gas mixtures are treated in low temperature plants. Gases are liquefied for two reasons: reduction of volume to store and transport large quantities, e.g. LH 2 , LN 2 , LOX, LNG, LPG; and separation by distillation, e.g. air, natural gas, coal gas, refinery gas, synthesis gas.

Very low temperature engineering
British Journal of Applied Physics, 1962The 93rd Science Meeting of the Low Temperature Group took the form of a discussion on `Low Temperature Engineering' which was led by Mr. Zvegintzov of the National Research Development Corporation. The main issue was that although in Britain cryogenic research involving hydrogen and helium temperatures was well developed, there were no corresponding ...

Low-Temperature Combustion Engine Control
2021Besides conventional spark ignition (SI) and compression ignition (CI) engines, low-temperature combustion (LTC) engines are investigated as an alternative combustion concept for use in engine systems. They hold promise to lower pollutant emissions while achieving a high efficiency.

Low Temperature Pumpability of Engine oils
SAE Technical Paper Series, 1984<div class="htmlview paragraph">During the winters of 1980-81 and 1981-82, major pumpability field problems were encountered in the US and Europe even though many of the oils involved met the requirements of the newly adopted SAE J300 SEP80. In an effort to understand these failures, pumpability requirements have been re-examined using a cross ...

Low Temperature Combustion Engines
2017Current stringent emission legislation, market and environmental concern governs the automotive research for developing high-efficiency and low emission engines. Vehicle manufacturers meet the present emission norms using a combination of in-cylinder emission reduction methods and exhaust after-treatment devices. Proposed future emission norms are even
