Heterobimetallic Janus Catalysts for the One‐Pot Synthesis of Polar‐Apolar Block Copolymers
Heterobimetallic Janus catalysts act as bifunctional initiators, combining two distinct polymerisation mechanisms in one pot to deliver well‐defined apolar‐polar block copolymers. Combining Earth abundant Ti and Al catalysts for respective α‐olefin and lactone polymerisation, the orthogonal activity is enabled by unprecedented initiation from a Ti ...

Mechanism of crustal extension in the Laxmi Basin, Arabian Sea
Continental rifting and magmatism has been extensively studied worldwide as it is believed that continental rifting, break up of continents and associated magmatism lead to genesis of new oceanic crust.

Radiogenic Ca isotopes confirm post-formation K depletion of lower crust [PDF]
Heat flow studies suggest that the lower crust has low concentrations of heat-producing elements. This could be due to either (i) greater fractions of basaltic rock at depth or (ii) metamorphic depletion of radioactive elements from rocks with more ...

Comparative Insights and Overlooked Factors of Interphase Chemistry in Alkali Metal‐Ion Batteries
This review presents a comparative analysis of Li‐, Na‐, and K‐ion batteries, focusing on the critical role of electrode–electrolyte interphases. It especially highlights overlooked aspects such as SEI/CEI misconceptions, binder effects, and self‐discharge relevance, emphasizing the limitations of current understanding and offering strategies for ...

Cationic titanium sandwich catalysts display exceptional activity in the hydrodefluorination of Csp3─F bonds, in the presence of silanes and aromatic solvents (turnover numbers up to 3000). As a result, they can be used to defluorinate challenging fluoropolymers, such as poly(vinyl fluoride) (PVF) or poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF).

Degradation Pathways of Silicon‐Based Anodes in Lithium‐Ion Batteries
Silicon‐based anodes undergo degradation through five primary pathways: (1) mechanical and structural deterioration of the active material, (2) loss of electrode integrity and electrical contact, (3) mechanical instability of the solid electrolyte interphase (SEI), characterized by repetitive fracture and deformation, (4) chemical instability of the ...

Ether‐Based Electrolytes and the Solvation Structure in Sodium Ion Batteries
Ether electrolytes enable high‐performance sodium‐ion batteries through their unique physicochemical properties, particularly distinctive solvation structures and co‐intercalation behavior. However, the localized solvation structure and its dynamic evolution during electrochemical processes remain a “black box”.

The role of lower crust and continental upper mantle during formation of non-volcanic passive margins: evidence from the Alps [PDF]
The remnants of a Mesozoic passive continental margin and of the Tethyan ocean floor are preserved in the Austroalpine and Upper Penninic nappes in eastern Switzerland and northern Italy.
