Lower Devonian-Middle Devonian Boundary in Central Nevada: GEOLOGICAL NOTES
AAPG Bulletin, 1962New fossil collections from beds immediately overlying the long established "Spirifer" pinyonensis zone show that there is a complete faunal break between these horizons in the northern Roberts Mountains and in the northern Simpson Park Range, central Nevada.

A primitive dipnoan fish from the Lower Devonian of Germany
Proceedings of the Royal Society of London. Series B - Biological Sciences, 1952Abstract A detailed description of a partial skull of the earliest yet known dipnoan, Dipnorhynchus lehmanni Westoll from the Hunsriickschiefer (Upper Siegenian, Lower Devonian) of the Bundenbaeh area, is given. This skull shares with D. sussmilchi (Eth.

Stratigraphy and Facies Across Lower Devonian-Middle Devonian Boundary, Central Nevada
AAPG Bulletin, 1983ABSTRACT A regressive episode near the end of the Early Devonian caused a nearshore quartzose carbonate facies to shift to the edge of the carbonate shelf in central Nevada. Transgression followed in the latest Early Devonian and continued in the early Middle Devonian.

A new zosterophyll from the Lower Devonian of Wales
Botanical Journal of the Linnean Society, 1986A new monotypic genus is described from impression and compression fossils preserved in the Senni Beds of the Lower Old Red Sandstone of S Wales. The new species has scattered reniform lateral sporangia suggesting zosterophyll affinity, but supporting anatomical evidence is lacking.

Lower Devonian Gametophytes: Relation to the Phylogeny of Land Plants
Science, 1982Three gametophytic plants now known from the Lower Devonian of Scotland and Germany show common features in their fertile parts. The morphological and anatomical structures indicate affinities to bryophytic gametophytes, although there is no evidence for a parasitic sporogonium-like sporophyte as in the Bryophyta.

Silurian-Devonian Boundary and Correlation of Lower Devonian of Soviet and Canadian Arctic: ABSTRACT
AAPG Bulletin, 1970Lower Devonian marine sediments are widespread in Arctic regions and are represented by different stratigraphic sequences. Until recently the boundary with underlying Silurian deposits was an arbitrary one. At present the boundary in graptolitic sections is drawn at the base of the Monograptus uniformis zone (in Pay-Khoy, Alaska, Yukon, and other ...
