Interferon beta drives therapy resistance in a patient‐derived model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Interferon type 1 (IFN‐1) production and signaling is associated with the acquisition of therapy resistance, following chronic DNA damage, via Interferon‐related DNA damage resistance signature (IRDS) gene expression. An alternative, DNA damage‐independent role of sustained IFN‐1 mediated resistance was identified and characterized by the emergence of ...

Spatial biology in cancer epigenetics

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Spatial epigenomics combines molecular profiling with tissue architecture to reveal how gene regulation is organized within intact tissues. In cancer, these technologies uncover the mechanisms driving tumor heterogeneity and microenvironmental interactions, opening new opportunities for biomarker discovery and precision medicine.

Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

Timely Diagnosis of Malalignment of the Distal Extremities Is Crucial in Morbidly Obese Juveniles

open access: yesObesity Facts, 2013
Background/Aims: To determine i) whether obesity in childhood can be related to malalignment of the distal extremities, ii) the proportion of genu valgum malalignment and abduction setting, and iii) the respective deviation dominance in children who are ...

Acute Lower Extremity Paralysis After Lower Extremity Endovascular Intervention

open access: yesTurk Kardiyoloji Dernegi Arsivi-Archives of the Turkish Society of Cardiology, 2016
A 61-year-old man underwent successful percutaneous revascularization of both lower limbs with multiple stent implantations. Paralysis of right lower limb was noticed after completion of procedure when transferring the patient from angiography table. Since hematoma compressing lumbosacral neural plexus could be a fatal complication, computed tomography

YIPFα1A expression is regulated by multilayered molecular mechanisms

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
YIPFα1A, a five‐pass Golgi protein, is regulated at multiple layers. (1) Rare‐codon enrichment drives translation‐coupled mRNA decay. (2) A proximal 3′‐UTR element stabilizes mRNA. (3) A distal 3′‐UTR element included by alternate poly(A) site usage represses translation, which can be overridden by the proximal 3′‐UTR element.

Immunological considerations and outcomes in cross-sex vascularized composite allotransplantation

open access: yesClinical Transplantation and Research
Vascularized composite allotransplantation (VCA) has transformed reconstructive surgery for patients with severe tissue defects. Nonetheless, donor shortages remain a major limitation.

Molecular dynamics simulations of positively selected codons in FcγRI reveal novel biochemical binding properties

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Evolutionary analysis across 32 placental mammals identified positive selection at residues H148 and W149 in the immune receptor FcγR1. Ancestral reconstruction combined with molecular dynamics simulations reveals how these mutations may influence receptor structure and dynamics, providing insight into the evolution of antibody recognition and immune ...

Multifocal osseous epithelioid hemangioendothelioma involving extremities and spine with visceral metastasis

open access: yesIndian Journal of Medical and Paediatric Oncology, 2018
Epithelioid hemangioendothelioma (EH) is a rare locally aggressive intermediate grade malignant vasoformative tumor. Bone is a rarer primary site accounting for less than 1% of all malignant bone tumors.
