Jurassic and Lower Cretaceous crinoids of northern Turkey
1987Systematics, phylogeny and stratigraphy of fossil crinoids coming from sediments of the Northern Anatolian (Turkey) are discussed. Neodadocrinus tokayi n.gen. n.sp. and Bilecicrinus anatolicus n.gen. n.sp. are described. Besides faunal relationships during the Jurassic between Europe and Northern Turkey are hypothesized.

THE LOWER OXFORDIAN (UPPER JURASSIC) OF NORTH YORKSHIRE
Proceedings of the Yorkshire Geological Society, 1983SUMMARY Sedimentation during the Lower Oxfordian in North Yorkshire proceeded in two contrasting phases. The first, a shallow water sedimentation phase of the scarburgense Subzone age, was succeeded by deeper water conditions as the Callovian/Oxfordian transgression reached its maximum extent and the ...

A number of ammonite genera and species previously unknown in the Lower Jurassic beds of the Cana di an Arc tic are described in this report. These are: Psiloceratinae? (possibly Hettangian), Charmasseiceras and Coroniceras (Primarietites) (Bucklandi Zone of the Lower Sinemurian), Gleviceras plauchuti Frebold sp. nov.

Sedimentology of the Lias (Lower Jurassic) of South Wales
SEPM Journal of Sedimentary Research, 1965ABSTRACT The Sutton Stone and Southerndown Beds of the Glamorgan Lias nearshore sediments accumulated around islands of Carboniferous Limestone and are composed predominantly of poorly-sorted lithoclasts of derived chert and limestone in a white to grey calcilutite matrix.

Patterns of evolution among lower Jurassic crinoids
Historical Biology, 1988The crinoid families Isocrinidae and Pentacrinitidae are well represented in the British Lower Jurassic, allowing a detailed investigation of their evolution at this time. The pseudopelagic pentacrinitids diverged from the benthic isocrinids during the Triassic.

Troublesome definition of the Lower/Middle Jurassic boundary
Canadian Journal of Earth Sciences, 1979Recent North American usage of the series boundary is divided: (1) following English tradition it is placed between the Toarcian and the Bajocian s.l. stages; (2) following central European tradition it is placed at the same position, but with the distinction of the Aalenian stage = Lower Bajocian s.l.; (3) following the resolution of the 1st ...

Lower Jurassic Radiolarian Biochronology and Evolutionary Rates
2015In 2006 Gorican et al. published a comprehensive monograph on the systematics of Early Jurassic polycystine radiolarians which served as a coherent taxonomic base to establish a global radiolarian zonation for three stages that were poorly known before: the Pliensbachian, Toarcian, and Aalenian.
