Causal inference for binary non-independent outcomes [PDF]
Causal inference on multiple non-independent outcomes raises serious challenges, because multivariate techniques that properly account for the outcome's dependence structure need to be considered. We focus on the case of binary outcomes framing our discussion in the potential outcome approach to causal inference.

ABSTRACT Cystic kidney diseases (CyKD) are a diverse group of disorders affecting more than 1 in 1000 individuals. Over 120 genes are implicated, primarily encoding components of the primary cilium, transcription factors, and morphogens. Prognosis varies greatly by molecular diagnosis. Causal variants are not identified in 10%–60% of individuals due to

ABSTRACT Hereditary multiple osteochondromas (HMO) is an autosomal dominant disorder caused by heterozygous deleterious variants in the EXT1 or EXT2 genes. While the clinical core phenotype is well established and mainly consists of bone deformities, limb length discrepancies, multiple benign bone neoplasms, and increased risk of chondrosarcoma, the ...

Elexacaftor–Tezacaftor–Ivacaftor Improves Sinonasal Outcomes in Young Children With Cystic Fibrosis
ABSTRACT Background Severe chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) is a near universal manifestation of cystic fibrosis. Elexacaftor/tezacaftor/ivacaftor (ETI) is an oral, small molecule, highly effective Cystic Fibrosis Transmembrane Conductance Regulator (CFTR) corrector–potentiator drug.

On the emergence of criticality for inhalation-driven particle deposition in the anatomical upper airway [PDF]
Inhalation directs air through a defined pathway, initiating from nostrils, moving through the main nasal cavity, past the pharynx and trachea, and culminating in the lungs. Inhaled particles, of a range of sizes, are ferried by this incoming air but are filtered and trapped by upper airway structures to protect the delicate lower respiratory system ...

ABSTRACT Objective There is limited consensus on endoscopic skull base surgery (ESBS) reconstruction principles. This study aims to generate comprehensive themes regarding ESBS reconstruction by pooling the experiences of ESBS experts, with comparison to a literature review of current published evidence.
