Paleomagnetism of the Lower Triassic Moenkopi Formation
Geological Society of America Bulletin, 1974Paleomagnetic studies on the upper half of the Moenkopi Formation have identified three reversed and three normal polarity zones; this brings the total number of polarity zones observed in this formation to ten. The variable thickness and presumed duration of these polarity zones when combined with smaller variations internal to individual polarity ...

A procolophonid reptile from the Lower Triassic of Australia
Zoological Journal of the Linnean Society, 2020AbstractA new procolophonid reptile from the Lower Triassic Arcadia Formation of Queensland, Australia is described on the basis of abundant cranial and postcranial remains. Eomurruna yurrgensis gen. & sp. nov. is the first parareptile from Australia, being represented by more than 40 specimens from which a detailed description of the osteology is ...

Lower Triassic Foraminifera from Nevada
Micropaleontology, 1960Acid residues from limestone obtained from a single locality in eastern Nevada have yielded 5 lagenid species of Triassic foraminifera. The specimens are silicified and are present in over 600 ft. of section. The fauna is associated with Lower Triassic conodonts and occurs about 1,000 ft. above the Lower Triassic (Scythic) ammonoid guide, Meekoceras.

The marine Triassic sequence stratigraphy of Lower Yangtze
Science in China Series D: Earth Sciences, 1998Based on detailed field observation and multidisciplinary studies of integrated stratigraphy, the marine Lower and Middle Triassic of Lower Yangtze region is divided into five third-order sequences, the general approach of the outcrop sequence stratigraphical study of carbonate ramp is proposed, the pattern in the development of the Early and Middle ...

A basal ichthyosauriform with a short snout from the Lower Triassic of China
Nature, 2014The incompleteness of the fossil record obscures the origin of many of the more derived clades of vertebrates. One such group is the Ichthyopterygia, a clade of obligatory marine reptiles that appeared in the Early Triassic epoch, without any known intermediates. Here we describe a basal ichthyosauriform from the upper Lower Triassic (about 248 million

Recently discovered reptile specimens from the "Eotriassic" deposits of Madagascar (Lower Triassic) are reported, adding valuable information to our knowledge of Malagasy faunas and providing additional data on tetrapod survivorship across the PermianTriassic (PT) boundary. Four specimens are attributable to the terrestrial procolophonoid Barasaurus
