Non commutative Lp spaces without the completely bounded approximation property

open access: yes, 2010
For any 1\leq p \leq \infty different from 2, we give examples of non-commutative Lp spaces without the completely bounded approximation property. Let F be a non-archimedian local field.

A Rare Case of Non-resolving Pneumonia: Lipoid Pneumonia

open access: yesHaseki Tıp Bülteni, 2020
Lipoid pneumonia (LP) is defined as the sum of clinical and radiological abnormalities due to aspiration of oil based foreign materials. There are two kinds of LP defined in the literature.

Rosenthal's theorem for subspaces of noncommutative Lp [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We show that a reflexive subspace of the predual of a von Neumann algebra embeds into a noncommutative Lp space for some p>1. This is a noncommutative version of Rosenthal's result for commutative Lp spaces.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

The Improvement on the Boundedness and Norm of a Class of Integral Operators on Lp Space

open access: yesJournal of Function Spaces, 2015
We prove the condition “c is neither 0 nor a negative integer” can be dropped on the boundedness of a class of integral operators Sa,b,c on Lp space, which improves the result by Krues and Zhu.

Unintentional aortic puncture during lumboperitoneal shunt placement

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Neurosurgery, 2021
Unintentional aortic puncture has not been reported during lumboperitoneal (LP) shunt placement. A patient with normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH) had arrest of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) flow after each of 3 punctures for LP shunt placement.

Differential expression of cancer‐related genes supports prediction of poor response to first‐line treatments in T‐ALL pediatric patients with high minimal residual disease

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the present work, we have identified a transcriptional signature based on the differential expression of six genes (BCL2&MAST4, HSH2D&LAT2, METRN&PITPNM2) that would facilitate the early detection of T‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T‐ALL) patients prone to a poor treatment response and could be implemented at diagnosis, along with other risk ...

Arens Algebras and Matricial Spaces

open access: yesВестник КазНУ. Серия математика, механика, информатика, 2019
Let M be a finite von Neumann algebra equipped with a finite faithful normal trace and let Lp(M; ) be the corresponding noncommutative Lp space of -measurable operators associated with the couple (M; ), 1 ≤ p < ∞. Let MN be the algebra of all complex N
