Geopolitical Risk and the LNG-LPG Trade

open access: yesPeace Economics, Peace Science and Public Policy, 2022
We explore the relationship between Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) and Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) carrier freight rates and global geopolitical risk, while also controlling for the macro environment.

Design and fabrication of quick responsive and highly sensitive LPG sensor using ZnO/SnO2 heterostructured film

open access: yesMaterials Research Express, 2021
Highly efficient LPG sensor working at room temperature was developed using a simple and cost-effective route. For this purpose, ZnO/SnO2 heterostructure was synthesized using the hydrothermal route and thin films of the material were prepared.

Firewood, forests, and fringe populations: Exploring the inequitable socioeconomic dimensions of Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) adoption in India.

open access: yesEnergy Research & Social Science, 2021
Liquified petroleum gas (LPG) is an important clean fuel alternative for households that rely on burning biomass for daily cooking needs. In India, Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) has provided poor households with LPG connections since 2016.

Essential lipid autacoids rewire mitochondrial energy efficiency in metabolic dysfunction‐associated fatty liver disease

open access: yesHepatology, EarlyView., 2022
Increased liver content of DHA‐derived small lipid autacoids (i.e resolvin D1 and maresin 1) associates with enhanced mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation, fatty acid β‐oxidation and bioenergetic metabolic flux. These features provide hepatic protection from steatotic, pro‐inflammatory and fibrogenic insults.

Microfinance for clean cooking: What lessons can be learned for scaling up LPG adoption in Kenya through managed loans?

open access: yesEnergy Policy, 2021
Liquidity constraints are a key barrier to acquisition and sustained use of clean household energy in resource-poor settings. This study evaluates a pilot microfinance initiative in Kenya to help low-income rural households access liquefied petroleum gas

Pay-as-you-go LPG: A mixed-methods pilot study in urban Rwanda

open access: yesEnergy for Sustainable Development, 2021
2.8 billion people still cook with biomass fuels, resulting in devastating impacts on health, gender equity and the environment. Pay-as-you-go (PAYG) liquid petroleum gas (LPG) is a new technology designed to make LPG affordable for urban biomass users ...
