Induktive Randschichtnachbehandlung zur Steigerung der Korrosionsschwingfestigkeit des Radsatzwellenwerkstoffes EA4T Inductive surface layer treatment to increase the corrosion fatigue strength of the wheelset shaft material EA4T

open access: yesMaterialwissenschaft und Werkstofftechnik, Volume 55, Issue 6, Page 733-750, June 2024.
Effect of induction hardening on the corrosion‐fatigue strength of the wheelsetshaft material EA4T (25CrMo4+quenched and tempered) was investigated. Hardening parameter was indentified and optimized for slightly notched specimen. Moreover the electrochemical and fatigue tests were carried out for initial and hardened state.

CUDB: An improved decomposition model for orthogonal pseudo-polyhedra [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We present a new decomposition model for Orthogonal Pseudo-Polyhedra (OPP): the Compact Union of Disjoint Boxes. This model is an improved version of the Ordered Union of Disjoint Boxes model.

Dynamic facial expression recognition with pseudo‐label guided multi‐modal pre‐training

open access: yesIET Computer Vision, Volume 18, Issue 1, Page 33-45, February 2024.
To reduce the dependency on expensive manual annotations for the dynamic expression recognition (DER) task, the authors propose a multi‐modal pre‐training method with a pseudo‐label guidance mechanism to make full use of unlabelled video data for learning informative representations of facial expressions, and achieve state‐of‐the‐art performance on the

Fire‐Induced Carbon Loss and Tree Mortality in Siberian Larch Forests

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 51, Issue 1, 16 January 2024.
Abstract Climate change is intensifying the fire regime across Siberia, with the potential to alter carbon combustion and post‐fire carbon re‐accumulation trajectories. Few field‐based estimates of fire severity (e.g., carbon combustion and tree mortality) exist in Siberian larch forests (Larix spp.), which limits our ability to project how an ...

On the Termination of Linear and Affine Programs over the Integers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The termination problem for affine programs over the integers was left open in\cite{Braverman}. For more that a decade, it has been considered and cited as a challenging open problem.

The Integrated Diffuse X-ray Emission of the Carina Nebula Compared to Other Massive Star-forming Regions

open access: yes, 2011
The Chandra Carina Complex Project (CCCP) has shown that the Carina Nebula displays bright, spatially-complex soft diffuse X-ray emission. Here we `sum up' the CCCP diffuse emission work by comparing the global morphology and spectrum of Carina's diffuse

Scaling of Performance in Liquid Propellant Rocket Engine Combustion Devices [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
This paper discusses scaling of combustion and combustion performance in liquid propellant rocket engine combustion devices. In development of new combustors, comparisons are often made between predicted performance in a new combustor and measured ...

Analysis of liquid-propellant rocket engines designed by F. A. Tsander [PDF]

open access: yes
The development of the oxygen-gasoline OR-2 engines and the oxygen-alcohol GIRD-10 rocket engine is described. A result of Tsander's rocket research was an engineering method for propellant calculation of oxygen-propellant rocket engines that determined ...
