A Comprehensive Assessment and Benchmark Study of Large Atomistic Foundation Models for Phonons

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
We benchmark six large atomistic foundation models on 2429 crystalline materials for phonon transport properties. The rapid development of universal machine learning potentials (uMLPs) has enabled efficient, accurate predictions of diverse material properties across broad chemical spaces.

Influence of the Size Reduction on the Thermal Conductivity of Bismuth Nanowires [PDF]

open access: yesEurasian Journal of Science and Engineering, 2019
Theoretical calculations on the lattice thermal conductivity (LTC) of the bulk bismuth (Bi) and nanowires (NWs) have been studied with diameters 98 nm, 115 nm and 327 nm in the 〈110〉 direction from temperature range of 0 to 300 K.

Selective Optical Properties of Cement for Enhanced Radiative Cooling and Energy‐Efficient Construction Materials

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
Cement phases are good materials for radiative cooling thanks to the selective emissivity in IR ATW. Cement powders have high reflectance of solar radiation which reduces the thermal losses. The onset of the absorption curves is defined by bound excitons. Sulfates have higher radiated powers and reflectance than calcium silicates.

Sex‐specific elevated incidence of glaucoma associated with topiramate versus valproate or lamotrigine in epilepsy, not migraine: A population‐based cohort study

open access: yesEpilepsia, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective Topiramate has been linked to increased glaucoma risk, potentially through mechanisms involving ocular fluid shifts. However, comparative risks vs other antiseizure medications (ASMs) and variation by sex or indication remain uncertain.

Assessment of the Dispersion Quality of Refractive Index-Matched Nanodispersions

open access: yesApplied Rheology, 2016
Dispersion quality has a large influence on the resulting properties of filled polymers, hybrids and nanocomposites in general. Reducing the van der Waals forces and therefore, matching the refractive index between the filler and the matrix should ...
