A Shear Thickening Colloidal Suspension Functioning via Progressive Impact Jamming with Persistent Lubrication Layer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An ionic liquid‐based shear‐thickening fluid (ILSTF) exhibits lubricated dynamics from strong shear thickening to impact‐triggered jamming. A persistent nanometric solvation layer around silica governs both the shear thickening saturation in rheology and jamming front propagation under dynamic impact compression.

Improvement of mechanical properties of biomimetic‐layered Si3N4 ceramics with TiN as the interface layer

open access: yesInternational Journal of Ceramic Engineering & Science
In order to synergistically improve the strength and toughness of Si3N4 ceramic. We imitate the structure of shell nacre and use Si3N4 as the matrix layer, TiN is used as the interface layer.

Multimodal Cross‐Attentive Graph‐Based Framework for Predicting In Vivo Endocrine Disruptors

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A multimodal cross‐attentive graph neural network integrates molecular graphs with androgen and estrogen adverse outcome pathway (AOP)–anchored in vitro assay signals to predict in vivo endocrine disruption. By fusing information on Tier‐1 AOP logits with chemical structures, the framework achieves high accuracy and provides assay‐traceable ...

High-entropy diboride: A novel high-temperature self-lubricating ceramic with enhanced mechanical and tribological properties

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Ceramics
Ceramic-based lubrication materials are among the best choices for solving high-temperature load-bearing and lubrication problems. However, traditional ceramics achieve self-lubrication by adding lubricating phases, which often leads to significant ...

Evaporation‐Driven Solutal Marangoni Control of Rayleigh–Taylor Instability in Inverted Films

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Inverted liquid films, like paint on a ceiling, are inherently unstable under gravity. This work shows that selective evaporation in volatile binary mixtures generates solutal Marangoni stresses that either suppress or amplify the Rayleigh Taylor instability.

Transformation of chemical ordering and configuration entropy in quaternary CrxTi0.75Mo0.75V1.5−xAlC2 MAX system

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Ceramics
Two new quaternary CrxTi0.75Mo0.75V1.5−xAlC2 (x = 1.25 and 1) MAXs and Cr0.75Ti0.75Mo0.75V0.75AlC2 are synthesized via hot pressing. An unprecedented transition in M-site atomic occupancy from out-of-plane order to solid solution is observed along with ...

Intelligent Soft Opto‐Magnetic Robot for Minimally Invasive Interventional Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An intelligent soft opto‐magnetic (iSOM) robot is developed that integrates remote magnetic actuation, skin‐mimic tactile perception, and photothermal ablation in a near‐millimeter‐scale design. It enables precise intraluminal navigation and localized ablation while providing real‐time optical feedback to support safe and accurate minimally invasive ...

Combining the Pitcher and Lotus Plant: Supericephobic and Superhydrophobic Silicone Films

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Based on bench‐top nanomolding of polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) with optimized silicone oil content, we developed hierarchically structured silicone films by essentially combining the properties of the lotus and pitcher plant; particularly we are able to achieve water contact angle as high as 171° and ice adhesion strength as low as 11.5 kPa (i.e ...
