The parameters of Fibonacci and Lucas cubes

open access: yesArs Mathematica Contemporanea, 2016
Motivated by the conjectures from Castro, et al. in 2011, in this paper we use integer programming formulations for computing the domination number, the 2-packing number and the independent domination number of Fibonacci cubes and Lucas cubes for n  ≤ 13 .

$q$-counting hypercubes in Lucas cubes

open access: yesTURKISH JOURNAL OF MATHEMATICS, 2018
Summary: Lucas and Fibonacci cubes are special subgraphs of the binary hypercubes that have been proposed as models of interconnection networks. Since these families are closely related to hypercubes, it is natural to consider the nature of the hypercubes they contain.

Generalized Lucas cubes

open access: yesApplicable Analysis and Discrete Mathematics, 2012
Let f be is a binary string and d?1. Then the generalized Lucas cube Qd(f?)is introduced as the graph obtained from the Qd by removing all vertices that have a circulation containing f as a substring. The question for which f and d, the generalized Lucas cube Qd(f?) is an isometric subgraph of the d-cube Qd is solved for all binary strings ...

Male reproductive system in stenopodidean shrimps: Unveiling basal reproductive traits in shrimp‐like Pleocyemata (Stenopodidae and Spongicolidae)

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract Stenopodidea represents one of the basal lineages within Pleocyemata, yet the male reproductive system (MRS) of this group remains poorly understood, with limited information available regarding its morphology and function. This study provides the first detailed description of the MRS in four stenopodidean shrimp species from two families ...

‘Too Close to Eat?’ Exploring Consumer Responses to Edible Packaging Through the Lens of Food Neophobia and Construal Level Theory

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The rapid growth of packaging waste has recently intensified the search for sustainable alternatives. Edible packaging, developed from biodegradable materials safe for consumption, represents a promising innovation that combines environmental responsibility with food preservation.

Looking at Soil as It Is: Evolution of Microscopic Soil Characterization From Kubiëna to Artificial Intelligence

open access: yesJournal of Plant Nutrition and Soil Science, EarlyView.
We provide a historic overview of microscopic soil structure characterization from its founding father, Walter Kubiëna, to several technical revolutions like automation, digitalization, and artificial intelligence. In addition to technical advancements, we explore how concepts and research questions have evolved in time.

Synchrotron‐Based Deep Learning Network of the Inner Ear: Development and Expert Validation

open access: yesThe Laryngoscope, EarlyView.
A deep learning network to automatically segment the inner ear from preoperative clinical scans was developed using synchrotron‐radiation phase contrast imaging (SR‐PCI). On an unseen test set, the network significantly outperformed seven expert otologists/radiologists, the mean expert segmentation, and a simultaneous truth and performance level ...

Advancing the Volumetric Analysis of Ultra‐Low‐Field Brain MRI Using Image‐to‐Image Translation

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose Ultra‐low‐field (ULF) MRI offers a promising path to accessible neuroimaging, with potential to address global healthcare disparities and advance population‐level brain health research. However, the inherently low signal‐to‐noise ratio (SNR), reduced spatial resolution, and altered tissue contrasts relative to conventional high‐field ...
