Lucas' theorem: its generalizations, extensions and applications (1878--2014) [PDF]
In 1878 \'E. Lucas proved a remarkable result which provides a simple way to compute the binomial coefficient ${n\choose m}$ modulo a prime $p$ in terms of the binomial coefficients of the base-$p$ digits of $n$ and $m$: {\it If $p$ is a prime, $n=n_0 ...

A‐site and B‐site doped strontium ferrite‐type Ruddlesden–Popper oxides are evaluated as CO2 sorbents for glycerol‐based hydrogen production via sorption‐enhanced steam reforming. A Sr1.4Ca0.6Fe0.9Ni0.1O4−δ composition forms an active Sr3Fe2O7 phase, achieving ≈95 vol% H2 purity and over sixfold longer CO2 prebreakthrough time (tpb) than its perovskite

Integers represented by Lucas sequences
Abstract In this paper, we study the sets of integers which are n-th terms of Lucas sequences. We establish lower- and upper bounds for the size of these sets. These bounds are sharp for n sufficiently large. We also develop bounds on the growth order of the terms of Lucas sequences that are independent of the parameters of the sequence ...

Two‐Stage Catalytic Conversion of Carbon Dioxide Into Aromatics Via Methane
The development of a two‐stage process for converting CO2 via CH4 to C6H6 using a Ni/TiO2 catalyst in stage 1 and a Mo/ZSM‐5 catalyst stage 2. Thermodynamic calculations as well as experimentally varying parameters, aided in finding the optimal reaction conditions and reducing the coke deposition in stage 2.

Abstract Premise Pollinator‐mediated plant‐plant interactions may be negative (i.e., competition, reproductive interference) or positive (i.e., facilitation). Especially when co‐flowering with close relatives (e.g., congeners), negative interactions through reproductive interference may be strong and result in floral trait divergence and increased ...

The congruence of Wolstenholme and generalized binomial coefficients related to Lucas sequences [PDF]
Using generalized binomial coefficients with respect to fundamental Lucas sequences we establish congruences that generalize the classical congruence of Wolstenholme and other related stronger congruences.Comment: 23 ...

Exonic Variation and Its Clinical Impact in 7221 Old Order Amish
ABSTRACT The Amish of Lancaster County, PA has been the focus of genetic studies for many years due to its demographic history and unique genetic makeup that includes a historical bottleneck event and subsequent genetic drift, resulting in a marked decrease in genetic diversity and increased frequency of some variants that have substantially shaped the

The degree sequence of Fibonacci and Lucas cubes
The Fibonacci cube $\Gamma_n$ is the subgraph of the $n$-cube induced by the binary strings that contain no two consecutive 1's. The Lucas cube $\Lambda_n$ is obtained from $\Gamma_n$ by removing vertices that start and end with 1. It is proved that the number of vertices of degree $k$ in $\Gamma_n$ and $\Lambda_n$ is $\sum_{i = 0}^k \binom{n-2i}{k-i} \
