On the independent subsets of powers of paths and cycles
In the first part of this work we provide a formula for the number of edges of the Hasse diagram of the independent subsets of the h-th power of a path ordered by inclusion. For h=1 such a value is the number of edges of a Fibonacci cube.

Radical Cascade Combining Cross‐Olefin Coupling with the Smiles‐Truce Rearrangement
We present a cobalt‐catalysed radical cascade that efficiently merges two alkene starting materials to form multiple bonds in a single step. The process begins with a cobalt‐catalysed hydrogen‐atom transfer‐to a styrene double bond, followed by a Giese addition.

Weighted sum of the sixth powers of Horadam numbers [PDF]
Ohtsuka and Nakamura found simple formulas for Σⁿⱼ₌₁Fⱼ⁶ and Σⁿⱼ₌₁Lⱼ⁶, where Fₖ and Lₖ are the k-th Fibonacci and Lucas numbers, respectively. In this note we extend their results to a general second order sequence by deriving a formula for Σⁿⱼ₌₁(-1/q³ ...

A coalition formation value for games with externalities [PDF]
The coalition formation problem in an economy with externalities can be adequately modeled by using games in partition function form (PFF games), proposed by Thrall and Lucas.

Let P and Q be non-zero integers. The Lucas sequence U_n(P,Q) is defined by U_0=0, U_1=1, U_n= P*U_{n-1}-Q*U_{n-2} for n >1. The question of when U_n(P,Q) can be a perfect square has generated interest in the literature. We show that for n=2,...,7, U_n is a square for infinitely many pairs (P,Q) with gcd(P,Q)=1; further, for n=8,...,12, the only non-

Abstract The complex evolutionary history behind modern mammalian chewing performance and hearing function is a result of several changes in the entire skeletomuscular system of the skull and lower jaw. Lately, exciting multifunctional 3D analytical methods and kinematic simulations of feeding functions in both modern and fossil mammals and their ...

Abstract With the development of dental microwear texture analysis (DMTA), there has been an increasing application of DMTA for dietary estimation in extant and fossil reptiles, including dinosaurs. While numerous feeding experiments exist for herbivorous mammals, knowledge remains limited for carnivorous reptiles. This study aimed to qualitatively and

Abstract A subadult Moschognathus whaitsi from the Eastern Cape Province, South Africa, was scanned using synchrotron radiation X‐ray computed tomography (SRXCT). Its subadult state allowed the cranial bones and teeth to be identified and individually reconstructed in 3D.

Exploring Generalized $2^k$-Fibonacci Sequence: A New Family of the Fibonacci Sequence
The focus of this paper is to study the $2^k$–Fibonacci sequence, which is defined for all integers $2^k$, and its connections with both the Fibonacci and the Fibonacci-Lucas sequences.

The Lucas sequence is defined by: L0=2,L1=1,Ln=Ln−1+Ln−2 for n≥2. Let V(n), r(n) denote respectively the number of partitions of n into parts, distinct parts from {Ln}. We develop formulas that facilitate the computation of V(n) and r(n).
