Molecular Gas in the Powerful Radio Galaxies 3C~31 and 3C~264: Major or Minor Mergers?
We report the detection of $^{12}$CO~($1 \to 0$) and $^{12}$CO~($2 \to 1$) emission from the central regions ($\lesssim 5$--$10 {\rm kpc}$) of the two powerful radio galaxies 3C~31 and 3C~264.

Very Luminous Carbon Stars in the Outer Disk of the Triangulum Spiral Galaxy [PDF]
Stars with masses in the range from about 1.3 to 3.5 Mo pass through an evolutionary stage where they become carbon stars. In this stage, which lasts a few Myr, these stars are extremely luminous pulsating giants.

Infrared magnitude–redshift relations for luminous radio galaxies [PDF]
Infrared magnitude-redshift relations for the 3CR and 6C samples of radio galaxies are presented for a wide range of plausible cosmological models, including those with non-zero cosmological constant OmegaLambda. Variations in the galaxy formation redshift, metallicity and star formation history are also considered.

HST astrometry of the closest brown dwarfs‐II. Improved parameters and constraints on a third body
Abstract Located at less than two pc away, Luhman 16 AB (WISE J104915.57‐531906.1) is the closest pair of brown dwarfs and the third closest “stellar” system to Earth. An exoplanet candidate in the Luhman 16 binary system was reported in 2017 based on a weak astrometric signature in the analysis of 12 HST epochs.

The molecular Kennicutt–Schmidt Law has been key for understanding star formation (SF) in galaxies across all redshifts. However, recent subkiloparsec observations of nearby galaxies reveal deviations from the nearly unity slope ( N ) obtained with disk ...

Lack of Correlations between Cold Molecular Gas and AGN Properties in Type 1 AGNs at z ≲ 0.5
We present new NOrthern Extended Millimeter Array (NOEMA) observations of the CO(2–1) emission in eight of the brightest Palomar-Green quasars at z ≲ 0.5 to investigate the role of active galactic nucleus (AGN) feedback in luminous quasars detected at ...

Integral Field Spectroscopy of the Luminous Infrared Galaxy Arp 299 (IC 694 + NGC 3690) [PDF]
The luminous infrared galaxy Arp 299 (IC 694 + NGC 3690) is studied using optical integral field spectroscopy obtained with the INTEGRAL system, together with archival Hubble Space Telescope WFPC2 and NICMOS images. The stellar and ionized gas morphology

HerS-3: An Exceptional Einstein Cross Reveals a Massive Dark Matter Halo
We present a study of HerS-3, a dusty star-forming galaxy at z _spec = 3.0607, which is gravitationally amplified into an Einstein cross with a fifth image of the background galaxy seen at the center of the cross.

Neutral Gas Outflows and Inflows in Infrared-Faint Seyfert Galaxies
Previous studies of the Na I D interstellar absorption line doublet have shown that galactic winds occur in most galaxies with high infrared luminosities.

The host galaxies and black-hole:galaxy mass ratios of luminous quasars at z~4 [PDF]
We present and analyse the deepest, high-quality Ks-band images ever obtained of luminous quasars at z~4, in an attempt to determine the basic properties of their host galaxies less than 1 Gyr after the first recorded appearance of black holes with Mbh >
