Analytic solutions for Dp branes in SFT [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
This is the follow-up of a previous paper [ArXiv:1105.5926], where we calculated the energy of an analytic lump solution in SFT, representing a D24-brane. Here we describe an analytic solution for a Dp-brane, for any p, and compute its energy.Comment: 14

Dapagliflozin prevents methylglyoxal‐induced retinal cell death in ARPE‐19 cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Diabetic macular oedema is a diabetes complication of the eye, which may lead to permanent blindness. ARPE‐19 are human retinal cells used to study retinal diseases and potential therapeutics. Methylglyoxal is a compound increased in uncontrolled diabetes due to elevated blood glucose.

M-lump, N-soliton solutions, and the collision phenomena for the (2 + 1)-dimensional Date-Jimbo-Kashiwara-Miwa equation

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2020
In this work, N-soliton waves, fusion solutions, mutiple M-lump solutions and the collision phenomena between one-M-lump and one-, two-soliton solutions to the (2 + 1)-dimensional Date-Jimbo-Kashiwara-Miwa equation are successfully revealed.

Optimizing photoactivation of PA‐mCherry for optical pooled CRISPR screens

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Photoactivatable PA‐mCherry finds widespread use to optically tag individual cells. However, confocal 405 nm UV laser‐scanning (normal scan) is much less efficient than widefield UV illumination, limiting the use of PA‐mCherry on confocal instruments. We remedy this limitation by reporting that rapid and repeated confocal scanning with a low‐intensity,

N-soliton, breather, M-lump and interaction dynamics for a (2 + 1)-dimensional KdV equation with variable coefficients

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2023
The main purpose of this paper is to learn N-soliton, M-lump, breather solutions and interaction solutions for a KdV equation with variable coeffificients.

Early‐life high‐fat diet exposure increases Achilles tendon stiffness and induces transcriptomic alterations

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Early‐life exposure to a high‐fat diet altered intact Achilles tendons in rat offspring, making them thinner, stiffer, and molecularly distinct even without injury. These findings suggest that developmental high‐fat diet exposure may impair tendon quality and increase susceptibility to mechanical overload or tendon injury later in life.

Construction of lump soliton and mixed lump stripe solutions of (3+1)-dimensional soliton equation

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2018
In this letter, we apply two different ansatzs for constructing the lump soliton and mixed lump strip solutions of (3+1)-dimensional soliton equation, which is associating with the Hirota bilinear form.

Mixed Rational Lump-Solitary Wave Solutions to an Extended (2+1)-Dimensional KdV Equation

open access: yesAdvances in Mathematical Physics, 2021
Based on the bilinear method, rational lump and mixed lump-solitary wave solutions to an extended (2+1)-dimensional KdV equation are constructed through the different assumptions of the auxiliary function in the trilinear form.

Lumping and splitting [PDF]

open access: yesScience, 2018
Next month, the National Postdoctoral Association will convene its annual meeting in Cleveland, Ohio, where, among many topics, the matter of how data can inform policies to improve post-Ph.D. career pathways will be discussed. Many such data are indeed “out there,” but a major question is whether they are accessible and usable—which brings me to the ...

Cutaneous Melanoma Drives Metabolic Changes in the Aged Bone Marrow Immune Microenvironment

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer, increasingly affects older adults. Our study reveals that melanoma induces changes in iron and lipid levels in the bone marrow, impacting immune cell populations and increasing susceptibility to ferroptosis.
