Analytical investigation of nonrecoverable stall [PDF]

open access: yes
A lumped parameter model of the TF34 engine is formulated to study nonrecoverable stall. Features of the model include forward and reverse flow, radial flow in the fan, and variable corrected speed.

Field dispersion in uniformly‐excited radial parallel plate waveguides for a compact proton accelerator design

open access: yesMedical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Proton therapy (PT) is a beneficial modality for treating certain cancers but remains under utilized due in part to the high cost of existing PT devices. Dielectric wall accelerators (DWAs) are a proposed class of coreless induction accelerators that may present a suitable option for compact and affordable PT.

Aqueous and Non‐Aqueous Synthesis of 2‐(Dimethylamino)ethyl Methacrylate (Co)Polymers by Solution Radical Polymerization: Modeling and Experimental Study

open access: yesMacromolecular Reaction Engineering, EarlyView.
The radical polymerization kinetics of DMAEMA is studied in both aqueous and nonaqueous solution. Solvolysis of the nonionized monomer occurs in aqueous and aqueous‐alcohol systems, leading to the formation of copolymer or terpolymer; this complexity does not arise when DMAEMA is in its ionized form.

Myocardial perfusion mapping with intra‐arterial spin labeling: Optimization of the labeling efficiency

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose Intra‐arterial spin labeling (iASL) applies a labeling pulse from a transmit coil at the tip of the catheter for regional myocardial perfusion measurements during MR‐guided catheterizations. This study investigates the labeling efficiency of catheter‐mounted coils under varying conditions to enable robust iASL measurements. Methods The
