Protected Chaos in a Topological Lattice
Topological and chaotic dynamics are often considered incompatible, with one expected to dominate or disrupt the other. This work reveals that topological localization can persist even under strong chaotic dynamics and, counter‐intuitively, protect chaotic behavior.

Materials Selection Principles for Designing Electro‐Thermal Neurons
Materials property – performance relations are established for new and old electrical materials leveraged as electro‐thermal oscillators emulating neuron dynamics. Robust, reconfigurable, high frequency, low power characteristics are explicitly tied to highly nonlinear electrical transport, small specific heat, and greater electrical than thermal ...

A new 3D finite element model of the IEC 60318-1 artificial ear [PDF]
The artificial ear specified in IEC 60318-1 is used for the measurement of headphones and has been designed to present an acoustic load equivalent to that of normal human ears.

Direct recyling of Li‐ion battery materials promises a low‐cost path towards a secure domestic supply of critical materials for batteries. Using cathode material from an end‐of‐life commercial Li‐ion cell, this work identifies the primary degradation mechanisms that diminish the performance of directly reused cathode materials and includes a discussion

Study on Applicability of V500 High-speed Pantograph Models
To analyze applicability of pantograph models, dynamic parameter identifying was implemented for domestic independentdevelopedV500 high-speed pantograph prototype, and pantograph two-lumped-mass model and three-lumped-mass model kinetic parameterwere ...

Port-Hamiltonian formulation of shallow water equations with Coriolis force and topography [PDF]
We look into the problem of approximating the shallow water equations with Coriolis forces and topography. We model the system as an infinite-dimensional port-Hamiltonian system which is represented by a non-constant Stokes-Dirac structure. We here employ

A scalable method is presented to manufacture high‐capacity Si electrodes for Li‐ion batteries where skeletal porous Ti(Al,Si)2@Si particles are synthesized by gas atomization and acid etching. The fine pores have a buffering effect that suppresses volume expansion during lithiation, and the high electrical conductivity of the particles greatly ...

On the Structure of Ordered Latent Trait Models [PDF]
Ordered item response models that are in common use can be divided into three groups, cumulative, sequential and adjacent categories model. The derivation and motivation of the models is typically based on the assumed presence of latent traits or underlying process models. In the construction frequently binary models play an important role.
