Lumpy skin disease: The epizootic

Due of its quick spread and financial damages, lumpy skin syndrome (LSD) is considered a reportable illness by the World Animal Health Organisation (OIE). Since its discovery in 1929 in Zambia, LSD has historically only been found in Africa and few regions of West Asia. Both poisoning and allergic responses to the bug bite were first suspected.
