Recognition of landslides in lunar impact craters [PDF]
Landslides have been observed on several planets and minor bodies of the solar System, including the Moon. Notwithstanding different types of slope failures have been studied on the Moon, a detailed lunar landslide inventory is still pending. Undoubtedly,

Morphological Features-Based Descriptive Index System for Lunar Impact Craters [PDF]
Lunar impact craters are important for studying lunar surface morphology because they are the most typical morphological units of the Moon. Impact crater descriptive indices can be used to describe morphological features and thus provide direct evidence ...

Demagnetization signatures of lunar impact craters [PDF]
We investigate the crustal magnetic signatures of lunar craters using Lunar Prospector (LP) electron reflectometer data. Craters of all ages often have associated magnetic lows, showing that crustal fields were present even in pre‐Nectarian times (≳3.9 Ga). Magnetic lows extend to ∼2–4 crater radii, suggesting shock rather than thermal demagnetization.

Accurate Mapping and Evaluation of Small Impact Craters within the Lunar Landing Area
Impact craters, as the most distinct lunar structural unit and geological structure, are marked on the Moon’s surface. For over a decade, researchers have focused on identifying and exploring large- to medium-sized impact craters on the surface of the ...

Identification of Multiscale Spatial Structure of Lunar Impact Crater: A Semivariogram Approach [PDF]
Identifying the spatial structure of lunar impact craters is necessary to increase our understanding of past geologic processes on the Moon. However, detecting multiscale spatial structures of craters in images in appropriate resolutions using optimum ...

Large impact cratering during lunar magma ocean solidification [PDF]
AbstractThe lunar cratering record is used to constrain the bombardment history of both the Earth and the Moon. However, it is suggested from different perspectives, including impact crater dating, asteroid dynamics, lunar samples, impact basin-forming simulations, and lunar evolution modelling, that the Moon could be missing evidence of its earliest ...

PyNAPLE: Lunar Surface Impact Crater Detection
ABSTRACT In the last 20 yr, over 600 impact flashes have been documented on the lunar surface. This wealth of data presents a unique opportunity to study the meteoroid flux of the Earth–Moon environment, and in recent years the physical properties of the impactors.

A BAYESIAN NETWORK FRAMEWORK FOR AUTOMATIC DETECTION OF LUNAR IMPACT CRATERS BASED ON OPTICAL IMAGES AND DEM DATA [PDF]
Impact craters are among the most noticeable geo-morphological features on the planetary surface and yield significant information on terrain evolution and the history of the solar system.
