Solar power must become the primary source of commercial power for everyone in the world to achieve the same high standard of living. A power system is needed that is independent of Earth's biosphere and provides abundant energy at low cost. To do this mankind must collect dependable solar power in space and reliably send it to receivers on Earth.

Technologies for Lunar Surface Power Systems Power Beaming and Transfer
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2008Wireless power transmission within a given working area is required or enabling for many NASA Exploration Systems. Fields of application include robotics, habitats, autonomous rendezvous and docking, life support, EVA, and many others. In robotics applications, for example, the robots must move in the working area without being hampered by power cables

An integrated power aware system for robotic-based lunar exploration
2007 IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems, 2007An integrated system for a power-aware robotic-centric exploratory lunar mission is the subject of this article. The robots communicate with a base station with a flexible protocol that can automatically change its attributes from multi to single hopping strategies according to the QoS of the entire network.

Rectenna Options for a Lunar-Solar Power System
SAE Technical Paper Series, 1996<div class="htmlview paragraph">The lunar-solar power system features collection of solar radiation on the moon and conversion to RF or laser beams for power transmission to earth receivers for rectification. The subsystems are similar to those proposed for satellite solar power systems but there are significant differences for the transmitting ...

A Liquid Sheet Radiator for a Lunar Stirling Power System
4th International Energy Conversion Engineering Conference and Exhibit (IECEC), 2006This paper will propose a new lunar based power system consisting of a concentrated sunlight heat source (without detail), a Stirling convertor, and a liquid sheet radiator. Radiative effects are calculated and presented for both a spherical and a planar liquid sheet radiator using the waste heat rejection demands of the 25 kW Stirling convertor.

Lunar System to Supply Solar Electric Power to Earth
Proceedings of the 25th Intersociety Energy Conversion Engineering Conference, 2005The capacity of global electric power systems must be increased tenfold by the year 2050 to meet the energy needs of the 10 billion people assumed to populate the Earth by then. Few studies directly address this enormous challenge. Conventional terrestrial renewable, nuclear, and coal systems can not provide the power. Solar power collected on the moon

Computer Analyses of Lunar Mobile Laboratory Power System
IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 1966Two general computer programs were developed during a recent preliminary power-system design study of a Lunar Mobile Laboratory (MOLAB) for NASA. A digital computer optimization program determines a minimum weight fuel cell primary power system for MOLAB, given the manufacturer's basic fuel cell data and various system constraints.
