The chemistry of carbon in the lunar regolith
Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society of London. Series A, Mathematical and Physical Sciences, 1977The current status of knowledge concerning the chemistry of carbon in the lunar regolith is discussed. The respective roles of the solar wind and micrometeorite impact in contributing carbon and providing energy to stimulate chemical reactions and mobilize carbon phases are examined.

Use of lunar regolith as a substrate for plant growth
Advances in Space Research, 1994Regenerative Life Support Systems (RLSS) will be required to regenerate air, water, and wastes, and to produce food for human consumption during long-duration missions to the Moon and Mars. It may be possible to supplement some of the materials needed for a lunar RLSS from resources on the Moon.

Investigation into Uses for Lunar Regolith
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2003Any sustained effort on the Moon will require use of in‐situ resources as much as possible to reduce costs. Power generation is a primary concern and solar cells would be a convenient source of power for any lunar activity. Lunar regolith is an easily accessible in‐situ resource.

Neutron stratigraphy in the lunar regolith
1974NOTE: Text or symbols not renderable in plain ASCII are indicated by [...]. Abstract is included in .pdf document. Differences in the isotopic composition of Gd and Sm among lunar samples collected during the Apollo 11, 12, 14, 15, and 16 and Luna 16 missions have been measured by high precision mass spectrometry. These differences (up to 1.9% in [...]
