Reconstruction of deep and perforating corneal defects in dogs—A review (Part I/III): Autogenous ocular tissues, donor tissues, and corneal clarity scoring

open access: yesVeterinary Ophthalmology, Volume 28, Issue 2, Page 519-531, March 2025.
Abstract Corneal reconstruction is a key part of veterinary ophthalmic practice and numerous reconstructive techniques have been described for use in small animals in the peer‐reviewed veterinary literature written in English. Despite the evidence accrued over the last six decades in over 40 clinical articles and numerous other publications on ocular ...

Lunate and Perilunate Dislocations.

open access: yesOrthopedics & Traumatology, 1997
A series of 18 lunate and perilunate dislocations were retrospectively studied. Treatment consisted of closed reduction in three patients, open reduction and internal fixation in fifteen patients. The median time from injury to treatment was 27 days. Delay of treatment had an adverse effect on the clinical results.

Cannabinoid exposure during pregnancy: Cardiorespiratory effects and offspring outcomes

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend Prenatal exposure to cannabinoids has been investigated across human and animal studies to understand its impact on physiological development. Evidence suggests that early‐life cannabinoid exposure influence multiple developmental processes, extending beyond neurodevelopmental outcomes to potentially affect placental function ...

Osteochondritis dissecans in the medial femoral condyle in a cat with bilateral medial patellar luxation and hip dysplasia

open access: yesVeterinary Record Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 4, November 2026.
Abstract A 5‐month‐old female domestic shorthair cat was presented due to a 3‐month history of intermittent hindlimb lameness. Physical examination, radiographs and computed tomography were indicative of osteochondritis dissecans (OCD) in the right medial femoral condyle, accompanied by bilateral medial patellar luxation (MPL) and bilateral hip ...

Functional anatomy, jaw mechanisms, and feeding behavior of Dunkleosteus terrelli (Placodermi, Arthrodira)

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, Volume 309, Issue 10, Page 2574-2635, October 2026.
A new musculoskeletal reconstruction and revision of the cranio‐mandibular anatomy of the Devonian arthrodire placoderm Dunkleosteus terrelli from a comparative and functional anatomical perspective. Dunkleosteus is a specialized arthrodire with many specializations for feeding on large vertebrates, and many of its features are part of broader ...

Lung‐Cardiovascular Interactions and Derangements in ARDS

open access: yesComprehensive Physiology, Volume 16, Issue 5, October 2026.
This review proposes an anatomical near‐ and far‐field framework for lung‐cardiovascular interactions in ARDS. Grounded in pathological and biological studies, the evidence spans pulmonary vascular, right ventricular, and systemic endothelial derangements and reviews available evidence for targeted therapies.

Existence and stability of a screw dislocation under anti-plane deformation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We formulate a variational model for a geometrically necessary screw dislocation in an anti-plane lattice model at zero temperature. Invariance of the energy functional under lattice symmetries renders the problem non-coercive.

A Systematic Review of Nutrition Interventions for Shift Workers, With Subgroup Analysis of First Responder Populations

open access: yesJournal of Human Nutrition and Dietetics, Volume 39, Issue 5, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction Shift work is an increasingly prevalent feature of the modern workforce, with first responders constituting a critical occupational group required to sustain 24‐h operations. Modifiable health behaviour interventions, such as improving diet quality, may be effective in preventing or mitigating the non‐communicable disease onset ...

Grain size, size-distribution and dislocation structure from diffraction peak profile analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Diffraction peak profile analysis (or Line Profile Analysis, LPA) has recently been developed to such an extent that it can be applied as a powerful method for the characterization of microstructures of crystalline materials in terms of crystallite ...
