Wide-Angle, Multiplexed Backscatter Communications Using a Dynamic Metasurface-Backed Luneburg Lens

open access: yesIEEE Access
Backscatter communications is attractive for its low power requirements due to the lack of actively radiating components; however, commonly used devices are typically limited in range and functionality.

A solution to the complement of the generalized Luneburg lens problem

open access: yesCommunications Physics, 2021
Spherically-symmetric lenses can create sharp virtual images, but a general expression for their refractive index profiles had not yet been developed.

Luneburg Lens and Wave Theory [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1967
The wave theory for an underwater Luneburg lens is discussed in terms of a generalized wave equation, which differs from the ordinary wave equation in that it contains a term involving the gradient of the material density of the lens. We then consider the special case where, to a first approximation, the density of the lens has a constant value equal ...

The Bi‐Directional Relationship Between Corporate Sustainability and Environmental Uncertainty: The Moderating Role of Organizational Capabilities

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study investigates the bi‐directional relationship between corporate sustainability and environmental uncertainty, focusing on key moderators that shape firms' strategic responses. Using fixed‐effects regressions with S&P 500 data (LSEG Refinitiv Workspace, 2005–2022), we present two key findings.

Plasmonic metasurface Luneburg lens

open access: yesPhotonics Research, 2019
We present a new design of a plasmonic Luneburg lens made from a gradient-index metasurface that was constructed with an array of nanometer-sized holes in a dielectric thin film. The fabricated structure consists of a planar lens with a diameter of 8.7 μm composed of a rectangular array of holes with a periodicity of 300 nm.

When Decimals Drive Decisions: The Effect of Precision in Environmental Product Information on Purchase Intention

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Firms increasingly disclose environmental product information. Yet little is known about how the format of such information shapes consumer responses. This research examines how the degree of numerical precision in environmental product information influences consumers' responses, particularly their purchase intentions and willingness to pay ...

Prospects for poor-man’s cloaking with low-contrast all-dielectric optical elements [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the European Optical Society-Rapid Publications, 2009
We discuss the prospects for low-contrast all-dielectric cloaking and offer a simple picture illustrating the basic obstacle for perfect cloaking without materials with an effective double-negative response.

Board Independence and Corporate Social Responsibility: A Literature Review With a Focus on Country Effects

open access: yesCorporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study examines the relationship between board independence and corporate social responsibility (CSR) outcomes. Based on legitimacy theory, we conducted a structured literature review of 167 archival studies to analyze the influence of board independence on CSR performance and reporting.
