Uterine adenocarcinoma—A rare cause of chronic weight loss in mares

open access: yesVeterinary Record Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 2, May 2026.
Abstract Diagnosing the cause of slowly progressing weight loss in mares may be challenging, especially when only accompanied by non‐specific and weak clinical signs and non‐specific biochemical and haematological alterations. Integumentary fibrosarcoma in a free‐living swan (Cygnus olor): Medical and welfare considerations

open access: yesVeterinary Record Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 2, May 2026.
Abstract A 10‐kg adult male mute swan (Cygnus olor) of unknown age was admitted for investigations of two large ventral masses overlying the keel bone, which were discharging purulent material. The masses measured 8.9 × 2.1 cm and 4.2 × 3.2 cm. Empirical treatment with non‐steroidal anti‐inflammatory drugs and antimicrobials was instigated.

From Development to Aging: Dynamic Roles of the Thymic Medulla in T Cell Biology

open access: yesImmunological Reviews, Volume 339, Issue 1, May 2026.
ABSTRACT The thymic medulla is essential for establishing central tolerance, orchestrating the development of a diverse yet self‐tolerant T cell repertoire, and preventing autoimmunity. This process is primarily mediated through interactions between developing thymocytes and antigen‐presenting cells, including thymic epithelial cells (TECs) and ...

Mixed Signals: T Cells as Architects of IgE Immunity

open access: yesImmunological Reviews, Volume 339, Issue 1, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Food allergen‐specific IgE can cause significant pathology, yet the pathways that generate pathogenic, high‐affinity IgE remain incompletely understood. Increasing evidence suggests that IgE responses arise from the integration of multiple, and sometimes opposing, T cell–derived cues.
