Characterization of lung nodules
Recognition of lung nodules and classification of them as benign and malignent are very important in diagnosis of lung cancer. Present methods on nodule classification generally concentrate on defining nodule as either benign or malignent but do not consider radiographic descriptors that play important role on classification of small-sized lung nodules.

Lung nodules detection and classification
IEEE International Conference on Image Processing 2005, 2005Image processing techniques and computer aided diagnosis (CAD) systems have proved to be effective for the improvement of radiologists' diagnosis. In this paper an automatic system detecting lung nodules from postero anterior chest radiographs is presented. The system extracts a set of candidate regions by applying to the radiograph three different and

Simulation of Lung Nodules for Nodule Detection Studies
Investigative Radiology, 1980Two techniques for simulating lung nodules in nodule detection studies were evaluated. In one technique, radiographs were obtained with plastic beads placed on the surface of a chest phantom to simulate lung nodules. In the second technique, the same plastic beads were radiographed against a uniform background, and their radiographic images were then ...

The Lung TIME: annotated lung nodule dataset and nodule detection framework
SPIE Proceedings, 2009ABSTRACT The Lung Test Images from Motol Environment (Lung TIME) is a new publicly available dataset of thoracic CTscans with manually annotated pulmonary nodules. It is largerthan other publicly available datasets. Pulmonarynodules are lesions in the lungs, which may indicate lung cancer.
