Endobronchial ultrasound-guided transbronchial needle aspiration
Endobronchial ultrasound-guided transbronchial needle aspiration (EBUS-TBNA) is an advance in bronchoscopy. It is a staging tool for nonsmall cell lung cancer (NSCLC) but also allows diagnosis of unexplained mediastinal lymphadenopathy due to malignant ...

ABSTRACT Background & Aims: Cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) drive immunosuppression in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). However, their metabolic regulation remains poorly defined. We investigated the role of nicotinamide N‐methyltransferase (NNMT) in CAFs. Approach & Results: High NNMT expression in CAF tissues was confirmed by western blotting and

The use of Lung ultrasound to detect lung overdistension: Clinical application
reservedL'ecografia polmonare (LUS) si è dimostrata utile come strumento di monitoraggio della ventilazione polmonare; la limitazione principale era la possibilità di rilevare la sovradistensione polmonare (OD), ma questo problema è stato superato ...

Lung ultrasound imaging of H1N1 influenza
We describe the case of a 8 year-old child with acute respiratory distress sindrome (ARDS) during H1N1 swine flu. Lung ultrasound performed at the time of admission showed a typical ARDS ultrasound pattern, with multiple sonographic signs of interstitial

Ultrasound detection of lung hepatization.
Bedside ultrasound interrogation of the thorax can aide the clinician in determining the cause of the respiratory dysfunction. Often plain radiographs are not sufficient to differentiate pathology. We present a case in which bedside ultrasound defined the pathology without the need for further imaging.

Lung ultrasound: a new tool for the cardiologist
For many years the lung has been considered off-limits for ultrasound. However, it has been recently shown that lung ultrasound (LUS) may represent a useful tool for the evaluation of many pulmonary conditions in cardiovascular disease.

Lung ultrasound basics: Fun physics and ultrasound of the normal lung
Learn the physics behind the generation of artifacts that we have learnt to encompass and revel in “Lung Ultrasound” (and why this is a misnomer). Explore the use of ultrasound in the physiology of newborn respiratory transitioning from the very first breath and adaptation to the ex-utero environment and what happens when it goes wrong…

Prostate cancer is immunologically ‘cold’, with scarce, dysfunctional type 1 conventional dendritic cells (cDC1s) that limit T cell priming. We introduce an aptamer‐targeted liposomedelivering FMS‐like tyrosine kinase 3 ligand (Flt3L) and chlorin e6 (Ce6). Ultrasound induces antigen release and cDC1s recruitment, creating an in situ cDC1 vaccine.
