An evaluation of a glass ionomer luting agent: bacterial leakage
The Journal of the American Dental Association, 1987This study quantitatively evaluates the bacterial leakage beneath crowns cemented with a glass ionomer cement compared with those cemented with a polycarboxylate cement or a varnish plus zinc phosphate cement. Bacterial samples were taken from beneath full crowns cemented with the test luting agents 3, 10, and 56 days after cementation.

Mechanical and physical properties of contemporary dental luting agents
The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, 2003New luting agents, particularly with adhesive capability, are being introduced in an attempt to improve clinical success. Independent studies of basic comparative data are necessary to characterize these materials in relation to mechanical and physical properties. The purpose of this study was to compare the flexural strength, modulus of elasticity, and

Evaluation of a Composite Resin Crown and Bridge Luting Agent
Journal of Dental Research, 1972Laboratory evaluation of an aromatic thermosetting acrylic crown and bridge cement is reported. Crown retention, as measured, was independent of film thickness. Because the material was insoluble and gave improved adhesion to gold alloy and tooth structure, it could offer greater latitudes in crown and bridge techniques.

To assess whether the bonding potential to dentin of self-adhesive resin cements was affected by their pre-cure temperature.Composite overlays (Paradigm MZ100, 3M ESPE) were luted on 100 extracted molars with G-Cem (GC Corp.), BisCem (Bisco), Multilink Sprint (Ivoclar Vivadent), SAC-A (Kuraray Co.), XP Bond/Calibra (Detrey Dentsply).

Effect of Luting Agents on Retention of Dental Implant-Supported Prostheses
Journal of Oral Implantology, 2015To evaluate the retentive strength of 7 different luting agents in cement-retained implant abutment/analog assemblies. Fifty-six externally hexed dental implant abutment/analog assemblies and cast superstructures were divided randomly into 7 groups for cementation with each of the 7 luting agents.

Sealing properties of a calcium aluminate luting agent.
American journal of dentistry, 2010To determine the self-sealing properties of Ceramir C&B, a new calcium aluminate-based luting material and to compare it to two commercially available cements, using a bacterial model system.30 premolars were prepared in a standardized fashion with a total angle of convergence of approximately 10-12 degrees for complete cast restorations.
