The neuroprotective effects of Liuwei Dihuang medicine in the APP/PS1 mouse model are dependent on the PI3K/Akt signaling pathway

open access: yesFrontiers in Pharmacology, 2023
Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is an age-related neurodegenerative disease that progressively impairs cognitive function and memory. The occurrence and development of Alzheimer’s disease involves many processes.

Biodegraders of Large Woody Debris Across a Tidal Gradient in an Indonesian Mangrove Ecosystem

open access: yesFrontiers in Forests and Global Change, 2022
There has been limited research on the breakdown, recycling, and flux of carbon from large woody detritus (LWD) in mangrove forests. The breakdown of LWD is caused by guilds of terrestrial and marine biodegrading organisms that degrade wood at a range of

Turbulence of Landward and Seaward Wind during Sea-Breeze Days within the Lower Atmospheric Boundary Layer

open access: yesAtmosphere, 2021
Reynolds stress anisotropy is estimated from the stress spheroids, based on 20 Hz ultrasonic anemometer measurements, performed in the coastal area of northern France, over a 1.5-year long period.

Metabolic syndrome coexists with adult Léri–Weill dyschondrosteosis: A case report

open access: yesJournal of Diabetes Investigation, 2021
Léri–Weill dyschondrosteosis (LWD) is usually caused by haploinsufficiency of the short stature homeobox‐containing gene (SHOX). The clinical manifestation of this disease is a classic triad, which are short stature, mesomelia and Madelung deformity. LWD

Estimating large woody debris volume and distribution floated and accumulated in reservoir using aerial photographs

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences, 2018
Large woody debris (LWD) could increase the risk of flooding in the event of heavy rainfall, and fast estimation of the accumulated LWD is crucial for river basin management.

Measuring lung water adds prognostic value in heart failure patients undergoing cardiac magnetic resonance

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2021
To assess whether a simplified cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR)–derived lung water density (LWD) quantification predicted major events in Heart Failure (HF).

An Integrated Approach for Monitoring Contemporary and Recruitable Large Woody Debris

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2016
Large woody debris (LWD) plays a critical structural role in riparian ecosystems, but it can be difficult and time-consuming to quantify and survey in the field.

An EM LWD Tool for Deep Reading Looking-Ahead

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2023
An electromagnetic (EM) logging while drilling (LWD) tool is proposed for deep reading detection ahead of the drill bit. The EM LWD tool consists of one coil transmitter sub and two separated coil receiver subs. We utilize the attenuations of measured voltage signals as indicators for detecting the boundary ahead of the drill bit.

The influence of large woody debris on post-wildfire debris flow sediment storage [PDF]

open access: yesNatural Hazards and Earth System Sciences, 2023
Debris flows transport large quantities of water and granular material, such as sediment and wood, and this mixture can have devastating effects on life and infrastructure.
