Repetitive learning control: a Lyapunov-based approach
Proceedings of the 2001 IEEE International Conference on Control Applications (CCA'01) (Cat. No.01CH37204), 2002In this paper, a learning-based feedforward term is developed to solve a general control problem in the presence of unknown nonlinear dynamics with a known period. Since the learning-based feedforward term is generated from a straightforward Lyapunov-like stability analysis, the control designer can utilize other Lyapunov-based design techniques to ...

A Lyapunov approach to frequency analysis
Proceedings of the 2004 American Control Conference, 2004This paper proposes a Lyapunov approach to frequency analysis for general systems. The notion of frequency response is extended to general systems through a connection in linear systems. Lyapunov approaches to the characterization of frequency response are established for linear systems, homogeneous systems and nonlinear systems, respectively.

This chapter presents the different aspects of the design methodology that has been used to cope with the RCAM design problem. A quadratic approach involving robust pole placement in a disk and the solution of parameter-dependent Riccati equations is proposed.

Thermodynamic approach for Lyapunov based control
IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 2009Abstract Abstract This paper focuses on non linear control of non isothermal Continuous Stirred Tank Reactors (CSTRs). The model of the CSTR is thermodynamically consistent in order to apply the control strategy based on the concavity of the entropy function and the use of thermodynamic availability as Lyapunov function.

Lyapunov-based stability region computation approach
2015 European Control Conference (ECC), 2015For the design of controllers, D-decomposition techniques like the Parameter Space Approach (PSA) are widely used to identify the space of stabilizing controller parameters. The PSA approach is based on sweeping over the entire range of singular frequencies which leads to an expensive numerical computation and a waste of time to obtain the boundaries ...

A Lyapunov approach in incremental stability
IEEE Conference on Decision and Control and European Control Conference, 2011The notion of incremental stability was proposed by several researchers as a strong property of dynamical and control systems. Incremental stability describes the convergence of trajectories with respect to themselves, rather than with respect to an equilibrium point or a particular trajectory.

Dual approach to Lyapunov stability
Nonlinear Analysis: Theory, Methods & Applications, 2013The paper is concerned with stability at the origin, for a system of time-varying ordinary differential equations \[ \dot x = f(t,x) \leqno(1) \] under Carathéodory assumptions. First, the author studies stability for the so-called dual equation \[ \left( {{\partial W}\over{\partial y}} (t,y) \right)' = f \left(t, -{{\partial W}\over{\partial y}}(t,y) \

Plant tuning: A robust Lyapunov approach
2015 54th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control (CDC), 2015We consider the problem of tuning the output of a static plant whose model is unknown, under the only information that the input–output function is monotonic in each component or, more in general, that its Jacobian belongs to a known polytope of matrices. As a main result, we show that, if the polytope is robustly non–singular (or has full rank, in the

Time-Varying Lyapunov Function Approach
2016In this chapter, a time-varying gain-scheduling approach is proposed to deal with the problem of stabilization for a class of semi-Markov jump linear systems. A more general class of Lyapunov functions that depends on not only the system modes but also the staying time during the current system mode is constructed, which can cover the common time ...
