Constructing the Lyapunov Function through Solving Positive Dimensional Polynomial System

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, 2013
We propose an approach for constructing Lyapunov function in quadratic form of a differential system. First, positive polynomial system is obtained via the local property of the Lyapunov function as well as its derivative.

The NMHSS Iterative Method for the Standard Lyapunov Equation

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Based on the previous research results, a new modified-Hermitian and skew-Hemitian splitting iteration method (NMHSS) is presented for solving the standard Lyapunov equation in this paper.

On the Existence of Unstable Bumps in Neural Networks

open access: yes, 2013
We study the neuronal field equation, a nonlinear integro-differential equation of Hammerstein type. By means of the Amann three fixed point theorem we prove the existence of bump solutions to this equation.

Noise-Resistant Discrete-Time Neural Dynamics for Computing Time-Dependent Lyapunov Equation

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
Z-type neural dynamics, which is a powerful calculating tool, is widely used to compute various time-dependent problems. Most Z-type neural dynamics models are usually investigated in a noise-free situation.

Contraction and stability analysis of steady-states for open quantum systems described by Lindblad differential equations

open access: yes, 2013
For discrete-time systems, governed by Kraus maps, the work of D. Petz has characterized the set of universal contraction metrics. In the present paper, we use this characterization to derive a set of quadratic Lyapunov functions for continuous-time ...

Competitive Lotka-Volterra Population Dynamics with Jumps [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
This paper considers competitive Lotka-Volterra population dynamics with jumps. The contributions of this paper are as follows. (a) We show stochastic differential equation (SDE) with jumps associated with the model has a unique global positive solution;

A Robust Adaptive One‐Sample‐Ahead Preview Super‐Twisting Sliding Mode Controller

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView.
Block Diagram of the Robust Adaptive One‐Sample‐Ahead Preview Super‐Twisting Sliding Mode Controller. ABSTRACT This article introduces a discrete‐time robust adaptive one‐sample‐ahead preview super‐twisting sliding mode controller. A stability analysis of the controller by Lyapunov criteria is developed to demonstrate its robustness in handling both ...

Lyapunov functionals for the heat equation and sharp inequalities

open access: yesAtti della Accademia Peloritana dei Pericolanti : Classe di Scienze Fisiche, Matematiche e Naturali, 2013
The heat equation represents a powerful instrument to obtain a number of mathematical inequalities in sharp form. This may be not so well-known property goes back more or less to half a century ago, when independently from each others, researchers from ...

Lyapunov-type inequalities for a fractional p-Laplacian equation

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2016
In this paper, we present new Lyapunov-type inequalities for a fractional boundary value problem that models a turbulent flow in a porous medium. The obtained inequalities are used to obtain a lower bound for the eigenvalues of corresponding equations.

A novel noise-tolerant Zhang neural network for time-varying Lyapunov equation

open access: yesAdvances in Difference Equations, 2020
The Zhang neural network (ZNN) has become a benchmark solver for various time-varying problems solving. In this paper, leveraging a novel design formula, a noise-tolerant continuous-time ZNN (NTCTZNN) model is deliberately developed and analyzed for a ...
