On Metric Choice in Dimension Reduction for Fréchet Regression

open access: yesInternational Statistical Review, Volume 94, Issue 2, Page 325-346, August 2026.
Summary Fréchet regression is becoming a mainstay in modern data analysis for analysing non‐traditional data types belonging to general metric spaces. This novel regression method is especially useful in the analysis of complex health data such as continuous monitoring and imaging data.

Stochasticity of Galactic Orbits of Star Clusters

open access: yesOpen Astronomy, 2015
The Lyapunov, Lagrange and Poincaré criteria are tested for orbits of 461 open clusters in an axisymmetric potential. Lyapunov exponents and Poincaré sections are computed, and all of the trajectories are found to be stable according to the Lagrange and ...

Symplectic Calculation of Lyapunov Exponents

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 1995
The Lyapunov exponents of a chaotic system quantify the exponential divergence of initially nearby trajectories. For Hamiltonian systems the exponents are related to the eigenvalues of a symplectic matrix. We make use of this fact to develop a new method for the calculation of Lyapunov exponents of such systems.

Examples on Perron effects in autonomous discrete systems

open access: yesESAIM: Proceedings and Surveys, 2014
We construct examples proving that there exist C1-dynamical systems in [0,1) having forward orbits instable in the sense of Lyapunov with negative Lyapunov exponent and forward orbits stable in the same sense, but having positive ...

Internal reliability of coupled Kuramoto–Sakaguchi phase oscillators

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Complexity
The notion of internal reliability in dynamical networks describes whether replicas of a particular unit follow the dynamics of the reference unit. Reliability and anti-reliability can be quantified by the transversal Lyapunov exponents.

Probing thermodynamic phase transitions via Lyapunov exponent in AdS black hole with perfect fluid dark matter

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields
We revisit the large-small black hole phase transitions in Reissner–Nordström (RN) AdS black holes coupled with perfect fluid dark matter. Besides the free energy, we examine the features of Lyapunov exponents for both massive and massless particles ...

Effects of metronome walking on long-term attractor divergence and correlation structure of gait: a validation study in older people

open access: yesScientific Reports
This study investigates the effects of metronome walking on gait dynamics in older adults, focusing on long-range correlation structures and long-range attractor divergence (assessed by maximum Lyapunov exponents).
