Infolge einer Temperaturerhöhung werden Hitzestresstranskriptionsfaktoren (Hsf) aktiviert und bewirken eine gesteigerte Expression von Hitzestressproteinen (Hsp). Als molekulare Chaperone schützen diese die Zelle vor durch Hitze verursachten Schäden.
