1998Lydia Koidula, die Verkorperung estnischer Klassik schlechthin, wurde 1843 als erstes Kind des Literaten, Kunstforderers und Begrunders der estnischen Journalistik, Johann Voldemar Jannsen (1819–1890) geboren. Sie besteht 1862 an der Universitat Tartu das sogenannte Grose Examen, das sie berechtigt, als Hauslehrerin zu arbeiten.
