A revision of the genus Naroma (Lepidoptera: Lymantriidae)
Journal of Entomology Series B, Taxonomy, 1972SYNOPSIS A key is given to the four species of Naroma now recognised. The species are redescribed and their distribution is listed. The early stages of N.varipes and N.signifera are described by ...

The complete mitochondrial genome of Gynaephora alpherakii (Lepidoptera: Lymantriidae)
Mitochondrial DNA Part A, 2014The complete mitochondrial genome (mitogenome) of Gynaephora alpherakii (Lepidoptera: Lymantriidae) has been sequenced and annotated in this study. This mitogenome is 15,755 bp in length with an A + T content of 81.44%, and contains 37 typical animal mitochondrial genes that are arranged in the same order as that of other lepidopteran species.

Shifts in Developmental Diet Breadth of Lymantria xylina (Lepidoptera: Lymantriidae)
Journal of Economic Entomology, 2007The moth Lymantria xylina Swinhoe (1903) (Lepidoptera: Lymantriidae) is a major defoliator of hardwood and fruit trees in Taiwan. Although the plants identified as host plants of L. xylina usually refer to plants used as food or as shelter, most of the host plant identifications have not considered the role of these hosts on larval development.

Comparative morphology and evolution of the funnel warts of larval Lymantriidae (Lepidoptera)
Arthropod Structure & Development, 2001The larval funnel warts of 14 species of Lymantriidae (tussock moths) were investigated by means of scanning electron microscopy. The smaller, paired osmeteria on other abdominal segments were also inspected in four of the species. It seems that the bilaterally symmetrical funnel warts have developed by fusion of two smaller, single osmeteria. Based on

Behavioral Interactions in the Courtship of Lymantria dispar (Lepidoptera: Lymantriidae)
Annals of the Entomological Society of America, 1990The courtship behaviors of Lymantria dispar (L.) were videorecorded in the laboratory and analyzed using conditional probability matrix techniques. This analysis in- dicated that courtship interactions were moderately to highly stereotyped in both sexes. Males executed the majority of courtship behaviors according to the following generalized sequence:

Disruption of Gypsy Moth (Lepidoptera: Lymantriidae) Mating with Disparlure
Journal of Economic Entomology, 1983Field tests were conducted in sparsely infested areas of Massachusetts to evaluate the effectiveness of microdispersable formulations of racemic disparlure in disrupting mating of Lymantria dispar (L.). The incidence of mating of laboratory-reared female moths placed in treated plots was significantly less than that in control plots, and the degree of ...
