ABSTRACT Investigations at Oak Tree Fields, Cerney Wick, Gloucestershire, in western England have revealed a sequence of fluvial deposits dating from Marine Oxygen Isotope Stage (MIS) 7 to 5. At the base of the sequence, a series of gravel and sand facies were deposited, initially as part of a meandering river.

To better understand the environmental variability during the Holsteinian interglacial, fauna of the palaeolake deposits at Ortel Królewski II, eastern Poland was investigated. The analysis covered the uppermost part of the profile, representing the so‐called pre‐optimal part of the Holsteinian interglacial (MIS 11c), namely the Taxus and Pinus‐Larix ...

A large‐scale epidemiological investigation on trematode infections in small ruminants in Bangladesh
In Bangladesh, nearly 40% small ruminants were infected with snail borne trematodes (SBT). Small ruminants were usually affected by a variety of SBT. Three potential factors were detected as risk factors for SBT infections in small ruminants. Abstract Background The important trematode species in small ruminants: Paramphistomum sp., Fasciola spp.

A Culture Method for Lymnæa truncatul [PDF]
THE amphibious snail Lymnaea truncatula, which serves as an intermediate host of the liver fluke, Fasciola hepatica, has been found in the past to be somewhat difficult to maintain in laboratory culture. In connexion with current work on the epidemiology of the severe disease of grazing animals which is caused by this parasite, one of our first ...

Paramphistomum daubneyi: characteristics of infection in three lymnaeid species
Experimental infections of two South American lymnaeids (Lymnaea neotropica and L. viatrix var. ventricosa) with Paramphistomum daubneyi were carried out to determine if these snail species could sustain larval development of this digenean and, if so, to
