Distribution and Ecology of Lymnaeidae/Planorbidae Snails in India
2021Lymnaeidae/planorbidae snails are the intermediate hosts of Fasciola hepatica and Fasciola gigantica. Distribution of these vector snails explains the infection of fasciolosis as per geography and climatic condition of place. It also plays a vital role in the pattern of fasciolosis transmission.

Comparative karyological study of 9 species of European lymnaeids shows considerable variability of the chromosome morphology (NF varies from 60 up to 72) and reveals diagnostic characters at the level of species and genera. Comparison of karyological data with the reconstruction of phylogenetic relations in the family based on morphological and ...

Malacologica Bohemoslovaca
We report the first record of Pseudosuccinea columella (Say, 1817) from Serbia. This finding in the Tamiš River clarifies its presence in Serbia which was questioned in the 2021 checklist, as it was previously confused with succineid gastropods.

Cercarial production of Fascioloides magna in the snail Galba truncatula (Gastropoda: Lymnaeidae)
Parasitology Research, 2006Single-miracidium infections of Fascioloides magna in two populations of Galba truncatula were carried out under laboratory conditions to count free rediae and cercariae in snail cadavers just after death. Cercaria-shedding snails were in low numbers, and their shell height at day 60 p.e.

Some Lymnaeidae as intermediate hosts of Fasciola hepatica in Belgium
Experimental Parasitology, 1964Abstract This paper presents evidence indicating that Lymnaea truncatula is not the only possible vector of Fasciola hepatica in Belgium. Attempts to infect other members of the family Lymnaeidae were partially succesful. Lymnaea stagnalis (20% infected) and especially Lymnaea palustris (50% infected) were susceptible to infection with F ...

Shell variation in sympatric freshwaterLymnaea peregraandL. ovata (Gastropoda: Lymnaeidae)
Biological Journal of the Linnean Society, 1997Abstract Snails of the genus Lymnaea are morphologically variable and their taxonomy is unclear. In particular, the forms peregra and ovata , distinguished by shell shape, are often considered variants of the same species, L. peregra . We studied a rare situation in a Swiss mountain lake where both forms are sympatric.
