Biomimetic Bone Marrow Monocyte Membrane‐Fused Extracellular Vesicles for Targeted Therapy of Myocardial Infarction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study develops a biomimetic delivery system (M‐hEV) by fusing monocyte membranes with extracellular vesicles for targeted therapy of damaged cardiac tissue. The system homes to injured myocardium through specific molecular pathways. In a myocardial infarction model, M‐hEV effectively accumulates in the heart, reduces infarct size, alleviates ...

Integrated Single‐Cell and Spatial Analysis Reveals a Metabolic‐Immune Axis Driving Aortic Dissection

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Single‐cell and spatial profiling of 110 human thoracic aortic samples reveals a stromal–immune circuit driving aortic dissection. An elastin‐rich fibroblast subset is depleted with age and markedly reduced in disease, weakening aortic wall integrity.

The prognostic value of preoperative peripheral blood inflammatory biomarkers in extrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma: a systematic review and meta-analysis

open access: yesFrontiers in Oncology
BackgroundRecent evidence indicates that inflammation plays a major role in the pathogenesis and progression of CCA. This meta-analysis seeks to evaluate the prognostic implications of preoperative inflammatory markers, specifically NLR, PLR, and LMR, in

Correlation of Neutrophil-Lymphocyte Ratio, Monocyte-Lymphocyte Ratio, and Platelet-Lymphocyte Ratio with Stunting in Children

open access: yesJournal of Biomedicine and Translational Research
Background: Globally, stunting affected approximately 148 million children under five in 2022. Chronic infection contributes to stunting through immune hyperactivation and excessive cytokine release. Since anthropometric assessments are prone to errors and may not accurately reflect the underlying inflammatory status, common systemic inflammatory ...

Natural Resistance to Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome in Estrildid Finches Reveals Macrophage GPR183 as a Potential Therapeutic Target

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Ovarian macrophage depletion reverses OHSS resistance in estrildid finches and exacerbates OHSS symptoms in rats. Activating macrophage GPR183 alleviates OHSS by reducing pro‐inflammatory factors, increasing immunomodulatory molecules, remodeling CD44/SDC4‐mediated communication, and restoring immune homeostasis.

Neutrophil/lymphocyte, platelet/lymphocyte and monocyte/lymphocyte ratios in different stages of schizophrenia

open access: yesPsychiatry Research, 2019
The inflammation hypothesis is frequently mentioned in the pathogenesis of schizophrenia. The objective of this study was to compare inflammation markers during relapse and remission periods in patients with schizophrenia. Complete blood count (CBC) of 105 patients diagnosed with schizophrenia who were hospitalized due to psychotic relapse at Ondokuz ...

Engineered Carbon Dots from a Traditional Herb Pair Orchestrate Concurrent Antioxidant and AP‐1‐Mediated Inflammation to Attenuate Renal Ischemia‐Reperfusion Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study integrates two complementary traditional Chinese medicine components as precursors to synthesize bioactive AM‐AS@CDs. Compared with single‐component CDs, these dual‐component CDs exhibit enhanced antioxidant capacity and superior renoprotective effects.

PIEZO1 is Required for Acute Myeloid Leukemia Progression and Leukemia Stem Cell Maintenance via HIF1A‐SLC7A11 Axis‐Mediated Ferroptosis Defense

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies the mechanosensor PIEZO1 as a key factor in promoting acute myeloid leukemia progression and uncovers a ferroptosis defense system mediated by PIEZO1‐HIF1A‐SLC7A11 axis that is essential for leukemia stem cell maintenance. This ferroptotic defense system may represent a unique vulnerability for leukemia stem cells, providing a ...

Evaluation of White Blood Cell Ratios in Newly Diagnosed Multicentric Lymphoma in Dogs

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science
Background and Objective Lymphoma is one of the most common malignancies in dogs. In human medicine, complete blood count (CBC)‐derived inflammatory ratios, such as the neutrophil‐to‐lymphocyte ratio (NLR), monocyte‐to‐lymphocyte ratio (MLR) and platelet‐
