AbstractThe treatment of peripheral T‐cell lymphomas is challenging, as they often display a severe prognosis and lack effective treatment strategies. We will try to answer three burning questions: can we differentiate the initial treatment based on the histotype and the clinical presentation of peripheral T‐cell lymphoma patients?

Peripheral T-cell lymphomas (PTCLs) are malignancies of immunologically mature T-cells that arise in peripheral lymphoid tissues such as lymph nodes, spleen, gastrointestinal tract, and skin. These lymphomas are uncommon as compared with the incidence of B-cell lymphomas, and they comprise only 5% to 10% of non-Hodgkin lymphomas in North America and ...

Since the discovery of human T-cell leukemia virus type 1 (HTLV-1) in patients with adult T-cell leukemia/lymphoma (ATLL), malignant neoplasms of mature (peripheral) T lymphocytes have attracted a great deal of attention. This type of neoplasm is more common in Japan than in Western countries, and may show distinct clinical pictures such as ...

Thirty-one Chinese patients with peripheral T cell lymphoma (PTCL) were reviewed. Using the modified Japanese Lymphoma Group classification, there were nine (29%) of the pleomorphic type, 16 (52%) immunoblastic lymphadenopathy (IBL)-like, two (7%) T-zone lymphoma, and one (3%) Lennert's lymphoepithelioid type. Three (9%) were not classifiable.

PURPOSE Peripheral T-cell lymphoma (PTCL) and natural killer/T-cell lymphoma (NKTCL) are rare and heterogeneous forms of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL) that, in general, are associated with a poor clinical outcome.

Peripheral T-cell lymphomas (PTCLs) account for about 12% of all lymphoid neoplasms in Western Countries. They show an endemic prevalence in some geographic areas, including southern Japan, Caribbean Basin, and regions of Mexico and USA, where they are related to HTVL1 infection.1 PTCLs can be roughly subdivided into specified and not otherwise ...

The spectrum of peripheral T-cell lymphomas
Current Opinion in Hematology, 2009This review summarizes recent progress that has advanced our understanding of the pathobiology and prognosis of peripheral T-cell lymphomas including the changes introduced to the updated World Health Organization classification of lymphoid neoplasms. The International Peripheral T-Cell Lymphoma Project was a large collaborative project, highlighting ...

Peripheral T-Cell Lymphoma of the Scrotum
Acta Haematologica, 1994Primary lymphoma of the scrotum is rare. We report a case of primary immunoblastic lymphoma of the scrotum in a homosexual who was negative for antibodies to human immunodeficiency virus. Immunoperoxidase stains of paraffin-embedded tissue were consistent with a T-cell phenotype.
