Endoparasites of the Eurasian Lynx (Lynx lynx) in Finland
Journal of Parasitology, 2013We sampled 339 fecal samples, 296 intestines, and 82 lungs from 371 lynx hunted during the 2010-2011 season in Finland. The fecal samples were analyzed for endoparasites by a quantitative flotation method, and helminths from intestines were studied morphologically, while lungs were investigated for pulmonary parasites.

Skin biopsies were used for tissue culture; the male cames from an animal farm in Vermont, and was previously published. The female comes from the San Diego Zoological Park, San Diego, California, USA. The karyotype is constructed as those of the other Felidae and shows no noticeable difference from that of F. catus (Folio 31).

In the late 1990s, my husband Steve and I spent a year planning the construction of a writing cabin for me in a remote corner of our Montana land, where we live. While all I wanted was a modest cabin, the project quickly became complicated and expensive. This prompted us to consider other options.

Tooth Resorption in the Swedish Eurasion Lynx (Lynx Lynx)
Journal of Veterinary Dentistry, 2010The etiology of tooth resorption in the domestic cat remains unknown. The high prevalence and progressive nature of the disease complicates defining healthy control groups. In order to evaluate the possible influence of various life style changes on the prevalence of tooth resorption, healthy control groups are a prerequisite.

Investigations on reproductive physiology in the male Eurasian lynx (Lynx lynx)
Theriogenology, 2006This study characterized (in vivo) morphological and functional parameters of reproductive organs of adult male lynx (n = 3) prior to, during, and after the breeding season (n = 3). Size and morphology of the reproductive tract were monitored by transcutaneous (testes) and transrectal (accessory sex glands) ultrasonography.

The article summarizes own and literature data for variability of coloration, exterior and cranial features of L. lynx in the European part of the species areal. It is demonstrated that male body weight, body and skull linear dimensions are reliably bigger than in females, but by the skulls proportions the sexual dimorphism is defined slightly.

Mortality of reintroduced Eurasian lynx (Lynx lynx) in Croatia
2008On March 2nd 2008 we have acknowledged the 35th anniversary of Eurasian lynx reintroduction to Dinaric Mountains. Six animals from Slovakia, released in 1973 in Slovenia, founded one of the most successfully reintroduced European lynx populations. Lack of prey and human prosecution led to extermination of the autochthonous lynx in Croatia around the ...
