Extraction of 2D Cellulose Nanosheets From Natural Cellulose
SusMat, Volume 6, Issue 2, April 2026.2D cellulose nanosheets can be selectively extracted from various natural cellulose via precise breaking of their structure using a zwitterion combined solid catalyst. This provides direct evidence of 2D arrangement and challenges the classical fibrillar model, prompting a redefinition of cellulose hierarchy.
