Purely lytic osteoasarcoma

Skeletal Radiology, 1982
The radiographic features of 42 purely lytic osteosarcomas are presented. Purely lytic osteosarcoma is identified as a lytic lesion of bone with no demonstrable osteoid matrix by conventional radiographic modalities. Purely lytic osteosarcoma represented 13.7% of a group of 305 osteosarcomas. The most common presentation was that of a lytic ill-defined

Lytic Spondylolysis

Spine, 1986
A technique for repairing the defect in spondylolysis by wiring is presented together with the results achieved in seven patients; the follow-up ranged from 2 to 12 years. The relative simplicity of the technique is stressed; and the technical problems likely to be encountered, together with the modifications of the basic technique necessary to cope ...

Autophagy-Dependent Reactivation of Epstein-Barr Virus Lytic Cycle and Combinatorial Effects of Autophagy-Dependent and Independent Lytic Inducers in Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma [PDF]

open access: yesCancers, 2019
Autophagy, a conserved cellular mechanism, is manipulated by a number of viruses for different purposes. We previously demonstrated that an iron-chelator-like small compound, C7, reactivates Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) lytic cycle by activating the ERK1/2 ...

Lytic and non-lytic degradation of phospholipids in mammalian erythrocytes by pure phospholipases

Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Biomembranes, 1973
Abstract 1. 1. Sphingomyclinase (sphingomyelin cholinephosphohydrolase) from Staphylococcus aureus hydrolysed 75–80% of the sphingomyelin in human and pig erythrocytes and 50–60% of the sphingomyelin in ox and sheep erythrocytes, without producing haemolysis of the cells. 2. 2.

Lytic bacteriophages ofStreptococcus mutans

Current Microbiology, 1993
Three phages ofStreptococcus mutans were obtained and partially characterized. The three phages, designated M102, e10, and f1, were found to be strictly lytic, with host ranges restricted to only serotype c, e, and f strains of this species, respectively.

Acquisition of Lytic Spondylolisthesis in the Adult

Journal of Spinal Disorders, 1991
Two adult patients are described with documented progression from a normally aligned spine to a lytic spondylolisthesis. In neither patient was the time of the pars fracture determined. Both patients complain of back pain with mild radicular symptoms.

Generalized Transduction by Lytic Bacteriophages

2009
As interest in lytic phages as antimicrobial therapies or as treatments to reduce environmental contamination with pathogenic bacteria has increased, so has the need to determine if the use of lytic phages may lead to dissemination of virulence factors through generalized transduction, as occurs with temperate phages. Here we describe simple methods we
