Mechanosynthesis of Composite Fe/SiC Powders for Magnetic Abrasive Treatment

open access: yesМеханика машин, механизмов и материалов, 2016
The results of investigation of structure evolution of powder composition of Fe/SiC during mechanical activation (MA) are described. It is shown that the mechono-composite Fe/SiC is formed by treatment of the composition of Fe/SiC powders in the mill ...

Materials‐Driven Additive Manufacturing for Electrical Machines: Qualification‐Oriented Design Beyond Geometric Freedom

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This perspective reframes additive manufacturing for electrical machines as a qualification‐limited materials and architecture design problem. It links process–structure–property–performance relationships to magnetic, conducting, dielectric, and thermal property windows, highlighting where AM can enable segmented magnetic circuits, permanent magnet ...

The Role of Ultra‐Thin Passive Films and Organic Adsorbates on Aluminum Chips for a Friction‐Induced Solid‐State Recycling Process

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Despite benefits to storage stability and handleability of aluminum scrap, octadecyl phosphonic acid (ODPA) SAMs reduce the tensile strength of wires produced using friction‐induced recycling. Etching and methyl diphosphonic acid (MDPA) coatings, however, have little effect.

Surface Reconstruction‐Promoted Alkaline Overall Water Splitting on Fe‐Doped Ni2P/NiMoO4 Composite Structure

open access: yesElectron
Nickel‐based catalysts hold significant promise for efficient hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) and oxygen evolution reaction (OER) due to their dynamic reconstruction capability. However, uncontrolled reconstruction promotes lattice oxygen participation,

Impact of the Process Atmosphere During Hot Isostatic Pressing on the Near‐Surface Composition of an Additively Manufactured Austenitic High‐Interstitial Steel

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A high interstital austenitic steel is additively manufactured and postdensified by HIP to eliminate gas porosity. Thereby, the loss of N and Mn in Ar HIP atmosphere is investigated. Further, HIP using N2 atmosphere is investigated which led to excessive nitride formation.
