Nesting and Scheduling in Additive Manufacturing: The Impact of Practical Nesting Strategies on Overall Makespan Efficiency

In additive manufacturing environments, the nesting problem is analysed in depth, seeking to find practical guidelines to improve scheduling. The study confirms that it is possible to identify such guidelines or nesting patterns, which contribute significantly to improving the objective function and, even more, to reducing the required computation time.
